Chauncey Billups Buzzer Trailing Three-Pointer
Published 5/6/2008 at FanIQ Blog
Leave it to the NBA to hire Tennessee's Women's Basketball clock manager. After a very strong 3rd quarter by the Magic, finally hitting on their three-point shots, they were forced to absorb a Chauncey Billups three that should have never counter to end the period. With 5.1 seconds left in the period, the Pistons inbounded to Billups to dished it off to Rodney Stuckey to hopefully beat the buzzer. Steve Javie, Derrick Stafford, Joe Forte: Sometimes the zebras get it right, sometimes they get it wrong. Very wrong. Such was the case last night in Detroit, when the game clock "froze" long enough for Chauncey Billups to beat the third quarter buzzer with momentum-changing three-pointer. Here's the official description from the Orlando Sentinal: "The Pistons took the ball out of bounds with 5.1 seconds left, but the clock stopped at 4.8 and again at 4.1 before Billups made the three-point shot. The Magic bench erupted in protest, and officials huddled while TNT replays showed it took 5.22 ...

REFS RUIN ANOTHER PLAYOFF GAME
Published 5/6/2008 by BP at I *Heart* Celtics
After handing the NBA Championship to the floptastic Miami Heat and spending the offseason squirming while a ref was charged with consorting with the friggin' MOB, you would think that the NBA would do everything in its power to restore integrity to the way the game is called. I am not one to bitch about refs incessantly, in fact I find it tiresome, but the REASON you have refs is so crap like this doesn't happen. Special thanks to David Stern for not allowing these types of plays to be reviewed because he's a sniveling Machiavellian goblin. Thanks to our homeboys at Odenized ...
