Caps/Flyers: A History Of Carnage And Mayhem
Japers' Rink —
In the three playoff series between the two teams, there have been 46 fighting majors in 16 games. Check out, for example, the first period of Game 3 of the 1984 Patrick Division Semifinals - seven minor penalties (including five hi-sticks and a rough), ten fighting majors and five 10-minute misconducts. 114 PIMs in one period. But that's nothing... Flyers-Caps Multimedia Fun-day
Philadelphia Flyers —
Thanks for all of the banter on the comments board - I appreciate you guys making this page more popular than the actual Washington Capitals page. Gregg Kanner is a good writer and all of the NHL writers on this server need your support. If I get another email about how great the RedSox or Raiders page is, I’m going to get sick.
To respond to ‘Ben’s’ comment about my “selective statistics” - Of course they’re selective, haven’t you taken stats in college? And being from DC you have to be accustomed to selective stats being thrown your way.

Although he's a tough player who likes to get rough and doesn't mind when a player takes a run at him, he's apparently not much of a fighter, as Mike Richards showed us in September of '06.
Beat down! Granted, we don't actually assume Ovie will or should drop the gloves in a playoff series, ...
Bring on Alex Ovechkin!

Thanks to the700level.com for this classic video from 2006. Alex Ovechkin isn’t so bad after all.
