The Future of Sports Jounralism is DUMB and Unrecoverable

Check out this clever video of Buzz Blowhardinger's HBO rants and be sure to watch the ending. I am trying not to beat this Will Leitch/Buzz Bissinger story into the ground because there are plenty of more intelligent writers who post on sports "blog" type sites for a real pay check that are much more eloquent than me on this topic. While I am offended by his narcissistic John McCain like views of our world/future, it does not strike a deep chord in me because it is not my livelihood. Plus, it is hard to reason or convince a crazy ranting old man. Maybe Will should have asked ...
Buzz Bissinger Has Accomplished The Near Impossible

He’s managed in the space of one premium cable roundtable chat, to make Will Leitch seem like an a thoroughly reasonable, if not likeable character by comparison.
Of course, Buzz has already demonstrated that he’s out of his fucking mind.
Journalists vs. Bloggers

Check out this video from HBO’s Costas Now about their show on journalists vs. blogging. I think it’s pretty clear that Buzz Bissinger, author of ‘Friday Night Lights’ doesn’t like Will Leitch of Deadspin.com much. If you are unfamiliar with Deadspin, it’s one of the very best sports blogs on the Internet. ...
Bloggers Are People Too, Buzz

He had a special live show on this week about sports and the media, and the part that's gotten the most attention has been the part of the show about the Internet. He had on Will Leitch of Deadspin, the entertaining sports blog, and Buzz Bissinger, who is the author of many books on sports, most notably, "Friday Night Lights" and "Three Nights in August," which is about Tony LaRussa and the St. Louis Cardinals. (An interesting ...
Buzz and the blogs

Being too cheap to consistently shell out the big dough for HBO, I missed the heat-seeking missile Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Buzz Bissinger fired at Deadspin and blogs in general a couple of weeks ago during a forum discussion with Bob Costas.
The profanity-laced tirade, in which Bissinger dismissed blogs as the lowest form of sophomoric tripe, has been all the talk of the internet the past couple of weeks.
You can hear an excerpt from the show here, but be warned it includes objectional language. (It is HBO, after all.)
If you don't recognize the name, Bissinger wrote the classic "Friday ...
