And One PhD!! Your comment surprises me. Sure, Bill R has the crazies; takes some kind of crazy to achieve what he has achieved. What better inspiration for KG? Here's hoping you're correct - just remembered I'm rooting for the other side. Bill R has that effect on people. :)

What can I say... I'm blown away. It's like my whole life, Russell's retirement/my birth (roughly the same time frame), and the present day, have come full circle. I'm proud of being a Bostonian and a lifelong Celtics fan. It's kinda like a family that I never had (my dad was on the road most of my life) and he had problems when his career didn't go well. It's ok, I forgive him but still, something about the C's made it all right . All those times, during my adult life, when I'd worked in other cities and even other countries, there was always something pulling me back. And now, it's come together. I can almost feel Kevin's tears in that scene.

I don't have much of a rooting interest in any team left in the NBA playoffs. But there are a few players we like to pull for. St. Joe's product and now Cleveland Cavalier Delonte West is a personal favorite. A man I think most basketball fans, as well as NBA players themselves, can pull for is Kevin Garnett. You may have caught this clip of a sit down conversation between Bill Russell and Kevin Garnett during halftime of last night's game. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Mr. Russell - he only won 11 NBA titles in 13 seasons as a player and coach. I may be a Philly guy, but I can’t help but like Kevin Garnett . Over the years doing the mag, he’s always been one of the best guys to work with (see THIS VIDEO where he does his Ric Flair imitation for me on camera as Exhibit A).
