PhD!! Your comment surprises me. Sure, Bill R has the crazies; takes some kind of crazy to achieve what he has achieved. What better inspiration for KG? Here's hoping you're correct - just remembered I'm rooting for the other side. Bill R has that effect on people. :)

Garnett and Russell
Published 5/11/2008 at CelticsBlog
What can I say... I'm blown away. It's like my whole life, Russell's retirement/my birth (roughly the same time frame), and the present day, have come full circle. I'm proud of being a Bostonian and a lifelong Celtics fan. It's kinda like a family that I never had (my dad was on the road most of my life) and he had problems when his career didn't go well. It's ok, I forgive him but still, something about the C's made it all right . All those times, during my adult life, when I'd worked in other cities and even other countries, there was always something pulling me back. And now, it's come together. I can almost feel Kevin's tears in that scene.

Bill Russell and Kevin Garnett on ESPN

I don't have much of a rooting interest in any team left in the NBA playoffs. But there are a few players we like to pull for. St. Joe's product and now Cleveland Cavalier Delonte West is a personal favorite. A man I think most basketball fans, as well as NBA players themselves, can pull for is Kevin Garnett. Check out this sweet video of Garnett chatting with Bill Russell. [via CelticsBlog] Who are you pulling for, if anyone? ...

Celtic Pride: The Superstar and The Legend
Published 5/11/2008 by Josh Hayes at BostonsportZ
You may have caught this clip of a sit down conversation between Bill Russell and Kevin Garnett during halftime of last night's game.  For those of you that are unfamiliar with Mr. Russell - he only won 11 NBA titles in 13 seasons as a player and coach.  He is truly a living legend and you can see the amazing level of respect these two men have for each other.  I definitely had goosebumps watching this for the first time last night.  ABC and ESPN are planning to show additional pieces of the conversation as the Celtics continue through the ...

The Point Guard Question
Published 5/11/2008 by redsarmy at RedsArmy.com: The Voice Of Celtics Fans
The big question out there today has to do with Rajon Rondo and Sam Cassell.  I touched on it this morning… but let’s go into it a little more.  Here’s the theory: “Doc Rivers is breaking Rajon’s confidence by sitting him extended minutes in favor of a veteran point guard he trusts too much.” So ...

Random Thoughts - 5/12
Published 5/12/2008 by noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) at LOY's PLACE a celtics green blog
I am at a complete loss as to how a team can be so dominant on defense during the regular season both at home and on the road and can be totally dominant on defense at home in the playoffs and then go on the road and completely forget how to play defense. It just doesn't make sense. Bucks Diary has a theory as to what ...

The Thought of KG is Enough to Make Bill Russell Cry
Published 5/12/2008 by Patrick Cassidy at NBA Rumors - Trades - Free Agents - Basketball Olympics - Dime Magazine
I may be a Philly guy, but I can’t help but like Kevin Garnett . Over the years doing the mag, he’s always been one of the best guys to work with (see THIS VIDEO where he does his Ric Flair imitation for me on camera as Exhibit A). Garnett’s all heart, whether it’s in front of a camera or on-court. Sometimes though, the melodrama is a little much. The video after the jump that popped up on ESPN at the end of last week is so over the top that it made the crew in the office laugh out loud (even the Boston fans). It an all fairness, it’s not really KG’s fault. The Braveheart -esque music and Bill Russell looking like he’s about to burst into tears is what ...

Game 7: Win Or Stop Talking About How Important Winning Is
Published 5/18/2008 by Cousins of Ron Mexico at The Big Lead
Bill Simmons did a pretty good job explaining the Celtics’ mindset earlier this week. Basically, they’re a bunch of guys who have never won anything (Except for James Posey of course.) who keep doing interviews where they talk about how important winning is. Why, just this morning I awoke to the site of Kevin Garnett and Bill Russell talking to each other:

Mike D'Antoni New Knicks Coach

According to ESPN Mike D’Antoni has accepted the coaching position with the New York Knickerbockers. Lucky him? Well not exactly he inherits an organization in disarray. Although, with some draft lottery luck (which would hopefully equal PG D-Rose of Memphis) and D’Antoni’s up-tempo offensive system the Knicks could land in the playoffs as early as next season. It is the (L)eastern Conference
