Larry Brown Sports: SEC Officials Miss Call on LSU Interception by Patrick Peterson
So does Patrick Peterson have to get 3 feet down? #LSU got cheated by that call... http://bit.ly/1EtRdT 12 days ago
Couldn't be more obvious, except, I guess, to an SEC Ref! http://bit.ly/4yUlzc #SEC #LSU #NCAA 12 days ago
Refs decide yet another game in the SEC by bad calls. I've never seen a season like it. Very sad to watch. http://bit.ly/4yUlzc #SEC #LSU 12 days ago
SEC Officiating, Conspiracies, and You
Hard Knox Sports —
That flushing sound that you just heard was the SEC’s credibility going down the drain.
This time there is no excuse. LSU flat got jobbed.
Would they have scored on the ensuing possession? Who knows? They should have at least had the opportunity. Patrick Patterson CLEARLY had the ball and two feet down on what should have been an interception in the 4th quarter of the Tigers loss to Alabama. SI’s Andy Staples even took a picture of the mark made by Patterson’s left foot.
Forget editorial etiquette, at this point I just flat don’t believe that the replay official watched the video and thought that it could have ...
SEC Officials Miss Call on LSU Interception by Patrick Peterson
Larry Brown Sports —
Several SEC games have been marred by poor calls from the officials. To me, the worst case was in the Florida/Arkansas game, where the conference admitted they screwed up the calls that went against the Hogs to help the Gators. The storyline that has been prevalent throughout the season continues to take center stage as it did on Saturday in the LSU/Bama game. With Alabama up 21-15 in the 4th quarter, Greg McElroy threw a pass that appeared to have been picked off by Patrick Peterson on the sidelines. The referees reviewed the play but decided he was out of bounds. Here’s a replay of the Patrick ...
Dear Mr. Slive: I Should Be a Replay Ref
FanHouse —
by Clay Travis Filed under: Alabama, LSU, SEC Dear Commissioner Mike Slive, I know this has been a rough month for you. What with everyone suggesting that the SEC officials want to see Florida and Alabama in the SEC championship game no matter what the actual game results might be. Furthermore, I know that generally speaking the SEC's issue has been with judgment calls, celebration penalties on A.J. Green, personal fouls on some Arkansas defensive players -- it's okay, no one knows anyone's name that plays for Arkansas other than Ryan ...

SARS: Week 10. UPSET ALERT
Herm's Perm: Overpaid to Underperform —
Welcome to SARS: a recap of the Saturday footballings (Friday Afternoon Substance Abuse) that weren't contained by Wilt's disease mask. Because someone has to keep this asshole humble.
After an abysmal week of predictions two Fridays ago, Wilt rebounded with a solid performance that even Robert Downey could applaud. Wilt ...
Superlatives: Duck, duck ... Gerhart!
Dr. Saturday —
Snap judgments on Saturday's best.
Teachers' Pet: Toby Gerhart. (It's always the quiet ones.) The unfolding parity of the Pac-10 has been great television this year, and with 223 yards and three touchdowns against Oregon, Stanford's thundering senior back put the Cardinal squarely in the conference championship discussion with a 51-42 dismantling of Oregon that at times looked even less competitive the final score might have you believe (thanks, again, largely to Gerhart). Quarterbacks Jeremiah Masoli and Andrew Luck put on an air duel that would have made for entertaining football on its own, with 585 ...

SEC Referees Blow Another Call, Helping Alabama Against LSU
FanIQ Blog —
You'd think the SEC would be pretty confident about their chances of making the BCS Championship. Pretty much no matter what happens at this point, one of their teams is going to the game. Period. Because that's just how the broken system works, and we all have to deal with it. But for ...
SEC Officials Coordinator: "This Is Not Broke." Rest of Earth: "Really?"
The Sporting Blog —
Hey, have you heard about this little refereeing crisis the SEC is having? Are you fed up? Mad as hell and not going to take it anymore?
Well, it's a good thing you're not the SEC's coordinator of football officials, Rogers Redding. He's got to be all level-headed and diplomatic about this. And by that I mean he's completely delusional.
Redding would not comment on the SEC's new rules. But he did say the league officiating, overall, has been on par with other seasons. The league coaches have cast a bad image on officials by speaking out so much publicly.
"This is not broke," Redding said of SEC officiating. "It ...
Nick Saban’s Anger is Beautiful
Intentional Foul —
If violent outbursts of anger caused by SEC football can be categorized as “beautiful,” it will be because of Nick Saban and his awesome ability to emote. I mean, just look at the video. That’s some quality frustration expulsion right there. That’s what happens if an Alabama quarterback throws a really ill-advised pass — they’ll suffer the Wrath of Saban. Fortunately for those offending quarterbacks, their coach expresses himself in such a beautiful fashion, they’ll no doubt feel like they are getting a healthy dose of tough love.

LSU's Miles classy, restrained in discussing officiating
SEC Chatter —
LSU's Miles classy, restrained in discussing officiating By Paul Gattis -- The Huntsville Times November 09, 2009, 9:20PM les miles LSU Kudos to LSU coach Les Miles for the way he handled the topic today of the controversial no-interception. Public comments like LSU coach Les Miles made today regarding the officiating is the best news yet in the seemingly eternal issue about SEC officiating. You've read all about it and you can watch it right here . And put me in the camp that says Patrick Peterson caught the ball, got at least one foot in bounds (which is all that's required) and should have been credited with the interception. That's ...
