Albert Pujols Takes Out Padres Pitcher Young And Catcher Bard In One Inning
Published 5/22/2008 at FanIQ Blog
I'm pretty sure the Padres are glad that the St. Louis Cardinals left town last night, because if the Cards had stuck around much longer Albert Pujols may have killed everyone on their team. In the 3rd inning Pujols drilled Chris Young in the face with a line drive, breaking his nose. Then, in the same inning, he stuck a cleat into catcher Josh Bard's ankle during a slide at home. That's pretty efficient work, taking out 22% of the Padres starting lineup in a matter of minutes. Apparently he also slit the San Diego's Chicken's throat with a broken bat. The Padres were apparently so ...

It's not often that you knock one player out of the game, allbeit two in one inning. Well that's exactly what Albert Pujols did on Monday night against the Padres..... SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego Padres pitcher Chris Young and catcher Josh Bard were knocked out of Wednesday night's game against the St. Louis Cardinals by Albert Pujols within a span of two batters. Pujols hit a line drive off his Young's face in the third inning, breaking the right-hander's nose. Young immediately fell on his backside and put his right hand up to his face. Blood was running down his face. After a few minutes of sitting on the grass, ...

Albert Pujols Does Not Eat Children, Prefers San Diego Fathers

Filed under: Cardinals, Padres, MLB Injuries, MLB Video, San Diego, St. LouisThis one hurts. Fortunately Joe Buck wasn't calling this game, because he would have been disgusted. Albert Pujols took what looked to be an 0-2 cutter/sinker and, trying to get a piece of it, sent a liner right back at Chris Young's face. Young did not get his glove up in time. Pujols -- class act that he is -- felt awful, saying that "He was bleeding all over the place ... I would rather have hit into a double play." And, after the grounds crew got done sopping up all the blood, he also took out catcher Josh Bard's ankle ...

Albert Pujols Will Put You in the Hospital. You Too Smartass!

Could things get any depressing for the San Diego Padres and their fans? Not only do they have the worst record in baseball, and not only have they just put ace starter Jake Peavy on the disabled list, and not only did a construction accident near Petco Park hurt 12 people, and not only is Paul DePodesta's blog the most interesting thing about the entire organization, but now they have to deal with Albert Pujols' one-man wrecking crew taking out everyone in his path. To wit, via Awful Announcing: SAN DIEGO (AP) -- San Diego Padres pitcher Chris Young and catcher Josh Bard were knocked out of Wednesday night's game ...

Yardwork: Albert Pujols Will Destroy Your Battery Mates

TBL note to baseball fans: Don’t get drunk and slide down railings at games. It’s deadly. Cardinals 11, Padres 3: Albert Pujols lined a shot off Chris Young’s face in the 3rd inning, halting play for awhile and forcing us to wonder what would have happened had Pujols not reached for the pitch. Troy Glaus singled in Pujols minutes later and in the process, Pujols took out catcher Brian Bard with a clean slide after Bard’s ankle folded over. To recap, the Padres have the worst record in baseball, got verbally thrashed by GM Kevin Towers Monday night, sent Jake Peavy to ...

ALBERT PUJOLS HURTS PEOPLE
Published 5/22/2008 at With Leather
Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols injured the Padres' pitcher and catcher in the span of two batters last night.  Pujols began with a line drive off the grill of Chris Young, breaking his nose and making his jersey into a Spray 'n Wash stain stick commercial.  Pujols then came around to score, and his slide demolished Chris Young's ankle like a big rig hitting a parked Smart Car. Above is the video, and -- true to baseball form -- it's two brief moments of action packed into six breathless minutes of people standing around.  Young's face gets smashed right away, then there's a ...

The Cardinals beat the Padres 11-3 last night, but the Padres are less concerned about the game itself. Albert Pujols was literally a one man wrecking crew. No, Pujols didn't hit 3 home runs or drive in a 7 runs. He just injured the Padres starting pitcher and catcher within a matter of minutes. ...

Some interesting tidbits from around the Web, starting with a hilarious video staring Cleveland’s newest Cy Young winner. Scott found this one on Home Run Derby . For those of you who are regular readers, you may remember another incident involving Sabathia and his ‘hidden talent’.  Yes, I find this hilarious. Yes, I want that guy in my dugout! From Bill Simmons’ latest rant and rambling column - If everyone who owns Travis Hafner in a fantasy league starts anonymously sending him HGH, do you think he’d take the hint? Or did his car accident at the end of “No Country For Old Men” ruin his career to the point that even PEDs can’t help him? ...

Albert Pujols is a One-Man Wrecking Crew

In last night’s game against the woeful San Diego Padres, Albert Pujols made it his business to ensure the Padres will remain in last place for the present and seemingly the rest of the season as well. That’s because in the third inning, off #2 starter Chris Young, Pujols hit a sharp liner right back at Young, breaking his nose instantly and ...

Remember a few days ago when I told you about the debate we had in the FanHouse Google threads about which two players we would all want to start our own baseball franchise with? Well, Silvio and I were the only two who picked Albert Pujols, and we chose him because he's the greatest hitter alive right now. Another reason I'd want him on my team? Because he will take out everybody on the other team if given time. Albert took out the entire Padres battery last night. He got Chris Young with a line drive to the dome, and then make sure you keep watching the video to see him take catcher Josh Bard out as well (around the 3:17 mark). Do not mess with the ...

Someone tell Albert Pujols that he plays baseball… not hockey
Published 5/22/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
This is one of the craziest sequences I’ve seen in sports. First, Albert Pujols is up to bat and hits the ball off Chris Young’s face.  It didn’t like look it felt good because blood started streaming down his face.  That sucks. Then I guess Pujols felt like he didn’t take out enough Padres so as we was sliding into home plate, his foot got tangled up with the Catcher Josh Bard and it caused his ankle to get sprained. As if things weren’t going bad enough for the Padres, they just got worse. ...

Not for those with the weak stomachs... Albert Pujols manages to knock both Padres pitcher Chris Young and catcher Josh Bard out of the game Wednesday night in San Diego.
