Alexei Ramirez Grand Slam Forces White Sox vs Twins Play-In Game [2008 MLB Playoff]
FanIQ Blog —
Alexei Ramirez launched his fourth grand slam on his rookie year in the bottom of the 6th, nearly sending Hawk Harrelson to the hospital, but more importantly sending the Minnesota Twins on the road to Chicago to settle the AL Central.
We didn't want to go a day without baseball, anyway, did we?
On the last day of September, the Twins will meet the White Sox tonight at US Cellular Field at 7:30 on TBS.
I don't know how other Cubs fans feel, but I'm rooting for the White Sox tonight and throughout the AL Playoffs, providing the Cubbies are still involved. My pipe ...
Alexei Ramirez Provides Chicago With the Ultimate 'You Can Put it on the Board' Moment
The Sporting Blog —
The White Sox 162-game season game down to one inning last night. Down 2-1 in the 6th, the Chisox tied it when two wild pitches allowed the runner to score from second. Three walks later, the bases were loaded for rookie Alexei Ramirez to do this ...

2008 Baseball Regular Season Goes Into Extra Innings
RCS Sidelines —
Thanks to Chicago White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez, we'll have some bonus baseball tonight.
It's one of the great things that baseball offers: a one-game playoff, winner takes all, loser goes home (or golfing or something).
So before the playoffs can begin tomorrow night, let's officially wrap-up this 2008 season, as only Nick Blackburn (11-10, 4.14 ERA) and John Danks (11-9, 3.47 ERA) can.
It's the Twins against the White Sox for the AL Central Division, tonight, at 7:35pm.

Can't Stop The Bleeding —
I’ve got no rooting interest in tonight’s one game playoff to determine the winner of the AL Central, but if the White Sox persevere, I’m hopeful they do so in less dramatic fashion. Thanks to Harrelson and Jackson, the speakers on my Realistic ™ Home Entertainment System were critically injured last night.
