‘Sheed Trash Talk
Dime Magazine —
The basketball video site Odenized has this clip of Rasheed Wallace working over referee Jim Clark, where ‘Sheed wants Jim, or Ryan Gomes , or both, to know he’s not afraid of anybody. If you want more ‘Sheed trash talk, a quick YouTube search brings up the following news clip from last season documenting Rasheed’s torture of his own teammates and opponents. Apparently anything goes except for family members.
Philadelphia Versus Detroit: The Feel-Good Killer Series [NBA Playoff Preview]
Deadspin —
Over the next few days, Basket Bawful and Free Darko will be previewing each NBA Playoff series. Basket Bawful looks at the Eastern Conference today, continuing with the series between the Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers, which begins Sunday.
This series doesn't seem quite as hopeless as Atlanta versus Boston. Instead of having only a snowball's chance in hell, I'd say the 76ers are more like a large, stubborn block of ice in hell. Still melting, but maybe a bit more slowly.
The season series: It was a 2-2 tie, with Detroit winning the first two games and Philadelphia winning the ...
RASHEED WALLACE BLOGGING
The World of Isaac —
Looks like Sheed wanted to kill some time with an extra day off in the playoff series so he did what any normal person would do. He started a blog. Not really informative with his first post, but its Rasheed, and I'm hoping for something classic real soon like: The Art of the Technical Foul How to make your own NBA Championship Belt How to Dance like ...
The Biggest Trash-talkers in the League
Dime Magazine —
Part of talking trash is backing it up. So when DeShawn Stevenson taunted the Cavs with the John Cena“You Can’t See Me” after sinking a three to cut the lead to 16, he just looked like a clown. The same goes for Brendan Haywood pretty much every time he opens his mouth. Even if there hasn’t been much substance to back it up, all of the chatter coming from the Wizards through the first two games of their series with LeBron& Co. got us thinking - who are the biggest trash talkers in the League? We’re not talking about using the media as a buffer zone to give your opponent an earful. On court, jimmie-in-your-face smack. Rasheed Wallace - ...
The Vice-Commissioner of Anti-Flopping
ESPN.com - TrueHoop —
ESPN's Marc Stein broke the news: Starting next season, the NBA will be enforcing a ban against flopping. While many are cheered by the news of video replays being scoured, and fines being handed out, no one knows if it will actually reduce the amount of theater. (There are already thoughtful cases being made that fines will not stop players from doing everything they can to give their teams advantages with the referees.) So, about half a day into its public life, I'm ready to revise the NBA's anti-flopping policy. My wrinkle? Put Rasheed Wallace in charge. Make Rasheed the NBA's Vice-Commissioner ...
The Celtics will be the talkin-est team around
RedsArmy.com - The Voice Of Celtics Fans —
The Celtics are already notorious on-court talkers. Now Sheed will take things to a new level. I think Doc's gonna need earplugs at practice. Just a tip, C's fans... the Celtics are going to lead the world in technical fouls. Don't get upset about it. Just accept it as part of the deal.
Rasheed Wallace: The YouTube Files
Comcast SportsNet New England » Wicked Good Sports —
In case you missed, and I know you didn’t, the Celtics made a splash this weekend when they signed 2010 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Rasheed Wallace to a two-year contract. Here’s a little glimpse (via YouTube) of what we can expect from Sheed on and off the court: Sheed on Teammates and Nickname s"On the court, I’m real serious, off the court, I’m a real Jack ass, I ain’t gonna lie." — Rasheed Wallace Sheed the trash talker"He brings that attitude and that ability to go out and say something, and then stand behind it. And when you got a guy like that on your team, in certain situations, it changes the game."– Lindsey Hunter Sheed’s trick ...
Appreciating Rasheed Wallace in video form
It's Just Sports —
I've been trying to figure out how to properly express my sentiments on Rasheed Wallace leaving the Pistons for the past few days. In many ways, I'm glad he'll go somewhere, get a fresh start on a championship contender and not have to be counted on to do much other than rebound and play good defense for 25-30 minutes a night. But undeniably, he will be missed, and I have no words to describe how much, so I figured I just post a bunch of videos of his antics. Enjoy. His signature slogan on the court as a Piston even inspired a blog name ...
