Rays' Matt Garza and Dioner Navarro Fight Each Other
FanIQ Blog —
It's been an interesting couple weeks since the Tampa Bay Rays success made it's way to the cover of Sports Illustrated. I wouldn't call it a jinx, but maybe SI was on to something when it depicted a muscle-bound, roid-raged Carl Crawford in cartoon form.
For the second time in a week, the Rays got into a heated fight. This time it was with themselves.
After Matt Garza gave up a solo home run in the 4th inning Sunday against the Rangers, catcher Dioner Navarro stormed to the mound and got into his pitcher's face. You can see Garza trying to defuse the ...
Looking for Silver Linings. It's hard.

Positives: We didn't lose the game by the 3rd inning today. We don't play Chicago again until the end of July. Maybe we won't need to worry about 13 pitchers after tomorrow, because C.C. Sabbathia will probably eat at least one of them for his mid-game snack.Um...yeah. That's all I've got. Now, let's say mean things about Nick Swisher. I HATE when Nick Swisher is good at baseball. It drives me crazy. I wish Nick Swisher would go back to Oakland. He fits in Oakland. And the fans in Oakland loved him. I know this because they emailed him to tell him that ...
Rays Get Heated in Texas Sun, Fight Each Other

The Bloods, Crips, and Johnny Otis (progenitor of the hand jive) all came to him when they needed signs. Dioner Navarro’s whole life is one big sign, man. Don’t shake off his signs. Pitcher Matt Garza didn’t listen to us Sunday , though, shaking off Navarro twice in the fourth against noted slugger German Duran . We assume he wanted to give him the heat and announce his presence with authority. Navarro shrugged, possibly imitating Crash Davis , and let Garza throw the heat. Duran deposited ...
The Rays just like to fight with everyone, including each other

Remember the fight that the Rays had last week with the Red Sox?
Yeah it was a pretty good fight but I guess the Rays aren’t done fighting. During their game Sunday against the Rangers in Texas, there was a clear miscommunication between Pitcher Matt Garza and Catcher Dioner Navarro.
Navarro gave Garza some signs of pitched to throw to German Duran. Garza shook off the signs and decided that he wanted to throw what he wanted to throw. Navarro wasn’t feelin it and shook his head but he let Garza go ahead and throw the fastball he wanted to throw.
Big ...
