Red Sox Batting Stances, past and present (video)
Red Sox Batting Stances, past and present (video)
This guy has the amazing talent of imitating almost every significant baseball player stance of the last 25+ years off the top of his head. It's absolutely uncanny. This is his go at the Red Sox.

I actually know this guy, which is why I posted it. The thing that doesn't come across in the video is that this is hilarious in person. It's all made up on the spot.

Batting Stances for Red Sox and Yankees, Past and Present…
Pyle of List — A friend of mine has an amazingly entertaining, albeit somewhat impractical talent of being able to imitate virtually every baseball player’s batting stance of the last 25+ years. Check out the Red Sox: And the Yankees: Go to YouTube and check out all of his videos there.

Give This Guy a Bat
Babes Love Baseball — This guy, a friend of JP from Pyle of List, is not only hilarious, but pretty much right on target when it comes to imitating batting stances of Boston Red Sox players, past and present. Enjoy.

He Looks Just Like Mo Vaughn [Ooh Ooh, Do Leitch!]

Red Sox Stances
BostonsportZ — Here's a video of some guy impersonating some past and present Red Sox stances. Although I wish he did Greenwell, Milar and a few other classics. He's not bad, although I think BostonsportZ's own Mike Symes could do a little bit better. Maybe we'll see it happen.

Is He Available for Parties?
Bugs & Cranks — We have here Gar, a 35 year-old father of 2 Los Angeles fella. His Stupid Human Trick is imitating batting stances. Except it’s not stupid at all, it’s AWESOME. He can do anybody. I particularly enjoy the first 3: Pujols, Edmonds and McGwire. This video is his Cardinals video, but there are others. He does the Red Sox, the Yankees (again, what’s with the Big 3 being the Red Sox, Yankees and Cardinals? That’s…unsettling) and he also does random 1980s stances. This guy is awesome. He should be available for parties, bar mitzvahs, and weddings. Maybe even funerals. ...

This Guy Is Officially Awesome
FanIQ Blog — I'm sure a number of you out there have wasted a few hours of your life imitating MLB players' swings. It's a fun thing to do, since MLB batting stances are so unique that if you do them well, everyone will know exactly who you're imitating. My personal favorite mock batting stance is Darryl Strawberry, and I always end it by doing a fake line of cocaine off the back of an imaginary hooker. But one guy has taken swing imitations to an extreme. He does a slew of awesome batting stances from the past, present, and future. Well, not the future, but you get my point. And rather than nail him for wasting his time, I'd like to salute ...

Mo Vaughn: A Stance and a Man Remembered
Rumors and Rants — Remember as a kid when you were out in the back yard and you did your best to impersonate your favorite baseball player at bat? Mark Grace was my man. But in some of my tee ball photos I clearly had a thing for Julio Franco's stance. Don't ask, I don't know. Anyway, this gentleman shares the same love of copy-catting, only he's, well, not a kid. I have no idea who he is but he appears to have plenty of time on his hands. These batting stances are fairly dead on. There's also a video for the Yankees, but I found it much less compelling. My personal favorite stance: Mo Vaughn. I ...

ESPN Feed: bill simmons — Sorry for the delay with the latest edition of the Links. Unfortunately, I've been traveling for the past three weeks and kept falling behind on e-mails, so there wasn't enough time to slap a decent batch together until this weekend. Thanks to everyone who keeps sending quality links along, especially those readers with the foresight to put "LINK" in the subject heading. Random Sox Theatre: Buffalo (Batting) Stance
Center Field — Batting Stance Guy takes on the Red Sox - and produces near-identical replications of the guys' batting stances. So identical, it's pretty freaky, actually. And he gives us the full gamut - obviously, David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez are in there, but they're fairly easy. But he also does Nomar, Mo Vaughn, Yaz, Fisk and even Ted Williams. The funniest of the bunch is easily Kevin Youkilis - and we get to see "Youk" hitting and striking out. Considering how much fun Youk and Manny had making fun of Sean Casey and Jason Varitek ...

Red Sox Batting Stances - Old & New
SawxBlog — This is absolutely golden. I would have loved to see him do Mike Greenwell's stance but beggers can't be choosers I guess. Also, if you want more stances check out this his site (below), he does every MLB team which is both ridiculous and absolutely amazing. Props to him for sure. ...

Random Red Sox Video - The Batting Stance Guy
The Bottom Line — We've got a few off-days this month, so I thought it'd be fun to fill the time with some random Sox-related videos. Enjoy! The "Batting Stance Guy" Does the Boston Red Sox He goes on quite a tear with Mo Vaughn (how did he hit anything!?), Johnny Damon and Wade Boggs... but my favorite is the very last one... Youkilis and Yuke agains taking a called 3rd strike. I would have liked to have seen some Phil Plantier in there... Digg! [image] ...

I Hate the Boston Red Sox
Sports And The City — The Toronto Blue Jays were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday afternoon. Much to my dismay, it was the Boston Red Sox who finally put us down for the ten count. This post isn't about the struggles of the 2008 Blue Jays. The post-mortem will come later. This post is about the Red Sox. While The Globe and Mail's ...

Video: 'Batting stance guy' does Red Sox, past and present
Projo Sox Blog — Gar Ryness's imitations of big league players at home plate have been on YouTube for awhile, but now he's starting to gain more notoriety. He was on David Letterman's Late Show last week and he's featured on Fox Sports Net regional channels. He does a nice job with the Red Sox.

First of all, this is April baseball. It doesn’t mean much. Christ, the Orioles started the year at 6-1 and they were still leading the AL East last I checked …does anyone think they’re going to finish higher than 4th? Of course not. In fact, this should be the year that the Devil Rays overtake them and get out of the cellar. I had to suffer through a “Oh my god, ...
Two Different Ninth Inning ComebacksRobots Took My Medicine
What a weird night for my two teams. Both were involved in games that ended 6-4, and both featured ninth inning comebacks. Unfortunately for me, only one of them was a good outcome. It started with the Red Sox and the Indians, in the first of a two-game set. Jon Lester was starting for the Sox, and I sure would like to see him making some improvements. But, once again, he had three good ...
Yankees Might Sue Worker Over Buried Sox ShirtSPORTSbyBROOKS
OK, this whole Yankees-Red Sox rivalry is getting ridiculous. First, some construction worker buries a David Oritz shirt in the concrete of the new Yankee Stadium, hoping to curse the new ballpark. Then the Yankees take the trouble to jackhammer and excavate said jersey from the hardened foundations ( which we called, BTW ). Now, the Bronx ball club wants to take the construction ...

Sox Wait Out Rain, Beat YankeesRobots Took My Medicine
This was just a good game, even if it did take forever to complete.  Normally, Sox/Yankees games take quite a while anyway, but when you throw in a two hour rain delay, it gets extreme.  But, the Red Sox came out on top, so that's what matters. Josh Beckett was amazing through five innings.  I think his pitch count was around 40 for those five innings, so he was obviously doing ...
Red Sox Slip Past YankeesGreen Pinstripes
Baseball is a nine inning game, but sometimes it comes down to a series of moments. And the Yankees fell short when that moment arrived. Mike Mussina pitched gallantly but stayed in one batter to long and Manny Ramirez made him pay as he finished with three runs batted to help lead the Red Sox over the Yankees 5-4 at Fenway Park.  Rain also factored into this contest (surprise, surprise) ...

Wang Dominates, Sox LoseRobots Took My Medicine
It's hard for me to be too upset about this loss, particularly considering what a great time I had at Dodger Stadium on Friday night (a post will be coming shortly).  When I looked at the match-ups for this series, I figured this was the game the Red Sox had the best chance of losing, what with the Yankees' ace on the mound, and Clay Buchholz pitching for the Sox.
