Help me out here: does FSN Ohio show every play from Lebron's POV, even if he's kneeling 90 feet away from the action?

From the announcer's reaction, you'd have thought this is game 7 of a playoff matchup or something. Or at least, a game to clinch a playoff spot... I mean, is Cleveland really going to worry if they don't have home court in the first round against the Wizards? Seems like that game mattered a lot more for Philly than it did for Cleveland...

Which announcer?  I know Fred McLeod, Cleveland announcer, lost his mind, screaming about justice.  And yes, Cleveland is of the mindset that without home court advantage, we have no advantage.

Most announcers are homers, moreso than years ago.     They are partners with the TV station and the team, so what do you expect.

Yes, I'd expect a certain degree of homerism, especially if I was a fan of that team. I might actually want to hear it.

Do you think homerism has increased in recent years? I think people are getting more access to a variety of broadcasts...through NBATV, League Pass and YouTube.

I posted a piece on SLAMonline. I was there last night. Ish was ridiculous. You should have seen the smiles on the faces of the Cavs players. They knew what it was.

Great piece, I saw it.  Question - around these parts, people say the look on Dalembert's face when his arm was around the stanchion and he put his hand to his forehead was because he knew he had fouled Devin and cost them the game.  What is your take on that moment?

I Can’t Believe What I Witnessed Tonight

Here is the replay and end result of the Sixers getting robbed out of the 6th playoff spot tonight against Cleveland.  Sometimes a ref just needs to put his whistle in his pocket. Considering the fury I have inside right now having been on the lower level and center court to witness that &%^%$%^$ I will wait until tomorrow to do a post on this game. Otherwise every 2nd word will be an expletive and we try and keep this blog PG-13. ...

Another Reason Why Devin Brown Is Superb

In case I haven't sufficiently made this point yet, Devin Brown is fucking tremendeous. And no amount of awful announcing or shocking camera work can outdo him.

Cavaliers Secure No. 4 Seed With Bizarre End of Game Officiating
Published 4/15/2008 at FanIQ Blog
If you were hoping for improved NBA officiating heading into the playoffs this weekend, this video isn't going to help. After Louis Williams hit the go-ahead bucket to give the 76ers a 90-89 lead with 5.1 second left, Lebron James traveled drove down the lane and had his shot blocked by Samuel Dalembert. Fortuitously, it landed in the hands of Devin Brown who promptly tossed up a flailing last second shot. Game over. Wait, not so much. I didn't know this was even legal, but the officials went back to replay and decided that Dalembert did indeed foul Devin ...

Refs help Cavs pull off amazing comeback

So just when you think 76ers pulled off an upset and held off a comeback attempt from the Cavs, the refs come in a say not so fast. Devin Brown shot a shot that fell short but after a replay the refs decided that he was fouled with .2 seconds left. He sank both of the free throws to give the Cavs the win. Tags: cavs, 76ers, refs

Cavs clinch No. 4 spot in controversial fashion
Published 4/15/2008 at Ball Don't Lie
The 'Year of the NBA Clock' continued in Philadelphia last night. With the Sixers back in the locker room playing Madden and eating oranges slices — convinced they had just beat Cleveland 90-89 — the NBA officials convened at the monitors to take a second look at the game's final play. After much deliberation, they decided Samuel Dalembert had fouled Devin Brown with 0.2 seconds left, thus awarding him two free throws. Here's the drama, via Odenized: Adding insult to injury, the loss means that the Sixers will be the seventh seed in the playoffs and ...

Controversial End to Cavs-Sixers Seals the Four and Seven Spots in the East
Published 4/15/2008 by Brett Edwards at FanHouse
Filed under: 76ers, Cavaliers, NBA Playoffs, NBA Videos The Sixers thought they had beaten the Cavaliers last night, thanks to a shot from Cleveland's Devin Brown falling short as time expired. The Sixers triumphantly ran off the court and into the locker room, but after officials reviewed the play for several minutes, they determined that there was a foul called before the buzzer and brought the team back out to watch Brown hit the game-winning free throws. The key here -- and the reason the play was reviewable -- is that the official ...
