If there were any questions as to whether or not Reggie Bush would be able to do what he showed at USC in the pros, they certainly were answered on Monday night. Best Monday Night game of the season, and it isn’t close. Minnesota 30, New Orleans 27 was so thrilling, the on-field action was nearly enough to make us completely avoid mentioning the three guys in the booth - almost: TK was terrific, from the Eastern Illinois riff to the “Gus Frerotte hated me for nine years” line - and stick to the absurdness:

A likely progression: the sportswriter wants to be a columnist. Then the columnist wants to be an author. Then the columnist/author wants a radio show. The radio host wants TV exposure. And after that comes the most high-profile, highest-paying gig in sports media: live TV sports announcer.
Now that Tony Kornheiser’s gone from Monday Night Football - whether he was pushed, a victim of fatigue, wanted back in radio, or wasn’t getting along with Mike Tirico, who knows - will another sportswriter make the jump to announcer?
