"I'm going to give him a clean slate till something happens." - Reggie Miller on Stephen Jackson coming back from suspension. "It's like Reggie said." - How SJ would probably respond. Overheard the same telecast: "Shot selection has always been a problem for Baron Davis." - Mike "The Rug" Fratello Yo Coach, Couldn't it be said that poor shot selection is true for every member of Golden State? With the ...
Reggie Miller Bashes Isiah Thomas, Stephon Marbury, & New York Knicks
HoopsVibe NBA Blog —
Reggie Miller Bashes Isiah Thomas, Stephon Marbury, & New York Knicks Former Knick killer Reggie Miller comments on the New York franchise:"Right now, they are a league-wide joke," Miller said. "It’s sad because they are a historic and iconic franchise. But people think they are late night comedy jokes.""All I know is that Isiah has the talent to make them a playoff-caliber team," Miller said yesterday over the telephone. "With the talent New York has, they should easily be in the top six. Only Orlando and Boston are running away with the conference. New York is not out of it. All they need is a four- or five-game winning streak and they’ve already ...

Who Do You Love, 2.0: Hoosiers And Cubs
wrigleyville23 —
Following up on the wildly popular post on who is your favoritest team in any sport, Wrigleyville23 now presents: Who is your favoritest player in any sport? Again, the rules are as follows: Name your favorite players from any sport from any era. It's not complicated. Here are mine: 1. Peyton Manning. He brought Indy it's first professional championship (or the first since the Pacers' ABA titles in the '70s, but who counts that?). And he's the star of the greatest SNL commercial ever. 2. Ryne Sandberg. My first favorite baseball player. 3. Andre ...
Open Letter To The Spurs
Project Spurs - A San Antonio Spurs Blog and Podcast —
Hey guys, Shawn here.
As you probably know by now, I’m a big fan. Of course, if I wasn’t a big fan, why would I be writing here, at your fan site? I’ve got a ton of respect for you guys, just for even making it to the NBA, not too many people can do that. And then be the most successful professional sports franchise of the last DECADE! Wow. I mean, that’s a complete effort from everybody, from the floor moppers, to the players, to management, to ownership. I still remember your first championship, I was on vacation with the family, driving to stay with my mom’s cousin, somewhere in Minnesota. I was ...
Trading Kevin Martin
Sactown Royalty —
For the past couple of weeks we've tossed around scenarios designed to either move us up in the draft or get us an additional pick. We have sacrificed at the draft altar the likes of Ron Artest, Brad Miller, Quincy Douby, John Salmons, Mikki Moore and Francisco Garcia. One name that has not been offered up is Kevin Martin.
Allow me to say that ...

Video: Jones hits consecutive four-point plays in 11 seconds
Ball Don't Lie —
I linked to this lil' nugget in this morning's 'net roundup, but it really needs to be seen to be believed. Heat gunner James Jones scored eight points in 11 seconds in Monday night's loss to the Hawks thanks to consecutive four-point plays. Seriously. Jones drilled a three with 2:26 left in the second quarter, got fouled by Solomon Jones and swished the free throw. Then, with 2:15 left, Jones done did it again — nailing another three (from nearly the exact same spot on the floor), drew a foul on Mike Bibby and made that free throw as well. Eight points in 11 seconds. ...
The Infinite List of Cool Things About the NBA
Basketball Fiend —
Jordan is one of the coolest things about the NBA. The NBA is filled with all kinds of cool things. In fact, so many cool things that it’s virtually impossible to document them all. But I’m damn sure going to try. Below you’ll find a list of the things that I think are cool about the NBA (ranging from past to present, from on the court to off-court) in no particular order. The reason I call this an infinite list is that I want it to be a living document, meaning I hope you’ll continue to add to it by leaving comments in the section below or sending tips to me by e-mail at pecrawley@gmail.com ...
Throwback Thursday – Reggie Miller 1995 Playoffs
Lang Greene's Posts - Hoops Vine —
I don’t care what anyone says, Reggie Miller was a legit star during his day. Sure he didn’t score with volume like Jordan, Iverson, Bryant, Wade or James – but he was without a doubt one of the most clutch performers in NBA history. Period.
This week’s throwback pays homage to Miller’s 6 points in 5.5 seconds during the 1995 playoffs against the New York Knicks – at Madison Square Garden.
With 18.7 seconds remaining in the game, the Indiana Pacers trailed the Knicks by six points. What happened next is easily one of the most memorable moments in NBA ...
