I think a lot of these 3 point guys can do this in practice. Let's wait and see how he does in the actual competition.

Maybe Rip Can Win The Three Point Contest
Need4Sheed.com — Check out Rip practicing for the All Star Three Point Shootout. Something tells me there was a little editing going on. Either way I like his chances. Hats off to Team Need4Sheed member Kaylene Miller for the speedy link.

Go Rip! [0:58 min]
NBA-Blog — ... scheint sich gewissenhaft auf den Wettbewerb vorzubereiten. Und er hat Spaß dabei. Und, he!, kein einziger Fehlwurf! [via fanhouse]

Rip practicing his tramp ball
Detroit Bad Boys — ... I may be the last Pistons blogger posting this video, but here’s Rip working on his tramp ball (will that phrase ever get old? I doubt it). Yes, it’s edited to skip the middle parts where I’m guessing he struggled, but he’s just deadly from the corners. ...

WaitingForNextYear — ... for the East.  Go get ‘em, Sheed. And finally, while I hate to go back-to-back on the Pistons, NeedForSheed has a pretty good find of Rip Hamilton draining threes .  Typically not one to drain a boat load of long-balls, he is in this year’s three-point challenge against our own Daniel Gibson.  Assuming Gibson can get healthy, and if this is any indication, he’ll have his work cut out for him. ...

Rip Gets Buckets
Dime Magazine — 2 Responses to “Rip Gets Buckets” February 11th, 2008 at 11:11 am penske1 says: Kinda off topic, but this is bugging me… Why so much hate from people about Kobe getting to the 3-point shootout? Sure he shoots threes at less than 35%, but that’s during the game where he is usually double/triple teamed and/or launching an off-balance buzzer-beater. Of course his percentage is going to be lower than a spot-up shooter who is usually getting wide-open looks. Anyone who has seen his turnaround fadeaway fall-out-of-bounds threes understands that the guy can SHOOT. Not trying to be on Kobe’s jock, but some people sound like they don’t know anything about this ...
