No Habs No: Richard Park
Sens Army Blog - Ottawa Senators Blog —
Geez, this No Habs No! campaign might end up costing me more than I had originally expected. I guess the prospect of getting one dollar in local currency motivated Richard Park (who is probably my favourite player in all of the Atlantic Division) to score the shootout-clincher against the Montreal Canadiens. Hate to pick on the kid, but maybe I should send a thank-you to Ryan O'Byrne for his own-goal ...

O'Byrne's oopsie
From The Rink —
Ryan O’Byrne put the puck in his own net on a delayed penalty to send the game into overtime, and Bill Guerin scored the shootout clincher for the New York Islanders in a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Monday night.
Guerin was credited with the tying goal on O’Byrne’s gaffe. Richard Park and Trent Hunter also scored for the surging Islanders, who won for the fifth time in six games.

I'm not sure what's more surprising: That this goal happened or that the Islanders are on such a roll. Full ...
Good Thing for Ryan O’Byrne Hockey Isn’t Played in Colombia
Larry Brown Sports —
... the goalie to get a sixth attacker out their because of a delayed penalty, and O’Byrne scored the game-tying goal on his own net. And his Canadiens went on to lose 4-3 in a shootout to the Islanders. Ordinarily I’d have some sympathy for the poor fellow but I’m a Bruins fan and of course could not be more delighted. The only thing positive I have to say is good thing for O’Byrne hockey isn’t played in Colombia.

Oops, Immortalized
Slap Shot —
Anyone can relate to the sinking feeling that comes with a boneheaded mistake, a momentary lapse of mental or motor skills, but for athletes, the moment can live forever thanks to video. Montreal Canadiens defenseman Ryan O’Byrne became the latest to experience that personal black hole, after sliding the puck into his own net Monday night in a loss to the Islanders. YouTube lives for this kind of stuff. When O’Byrne, not realizing his goalie had left the net because of a delayed penalty on the Islanders, swept the puck into his net, he immediately raised his hands to his head in horror and an unforgiving home crowd at the Bell Centre serenaded him by chanting his ...
Sunday Afternoon Linkies
Sports —
Things are so sad once the NFL season ends. What are people supposed to do on Sundays when it’s over? Chores? Errands? Church? Pass. Luckily we still have more than a month left.
My might Lions are on their way to achieving something no team has ever done - losing all their games. I don’t even know where to start. Calvin Johnson aka Megatron is pretty much their only keeper - BLOW THE REST UP. It’s funny because you look at the scores from Thanksgiving day and it just looks like all three teams (the Lions, the Cardinals and the Seahawks) were blown out; they each lost by ...
