Jim Zorn Endorses Slip 'n Slides
D.C. Sports Bog —
Jim Zorn Endorses Slip 'n Slides At first I thought this entire Kenny Mayne video was fake, but actual news sources seem to indicate that Jim Zorn does indeed use both Slip 'n Slides and Dodge Ball drills at football practice. And also that he once invited Frank Tanana to a Lions practice to teach Charlie Batch how to slide. Still, John Olerud talking trash about Danny Tartabull? Matt Hasselbeck talking about juice boxes? Zorn aka "Z Man" referring to Ray Fosse while Mike Holmgren says "I've clearly lost complete control of this franchise." At least 93 percent of this video is fake. I don't care what Fassel says, Jim Zorn looks ok to me
Hogs Haven —
The Bog is going overtime bringing you sweet Jim Zorn related minutiae by the minute. I can't simply steal all Dan's posts. Or can I? First, he's got Jim Fassel being a prick (but he's right!) so sayeth CBS Sportsline. Emphasis is all mine, though it probably helps to read the bolded portions imagining Jim Fassel spitting while saying them, or scouling heavily, or swaying erratically whilst clutching a tiki doll so ferociously his nails begin to crack: ...
Paralysis by analysis
Tandler's Redskins Blog —
I’ve been suffering from paralysis by analysis for the past 48 hours. Every since the hiring of Jim Zorn, I’ve been bookmarking articles about the hire and about the process, ready to pick them apart and point out the biases, the illogical and untrue statements, and the hypocrisy present in so many of them. But as soon as I found one that was good fodder, I’d find another one that was even dumber.
So, first I’m going to go into a little more detail about my opinion of the hiring and then, over the coming days when I’ve gathered enough of the good, the bad, and the Adam Schein take on the Zorn ...
An exclusive sneak peak at the Redskins playbook
Hogs Haven —
And by "exclusive" I mean only available to people within traveling distance to a Barnes & Noble and by sneak peak at the Redskins playbook, I really mean probably incorrect interpretation of exactly one play that Jim Zorn ran as quarterback in Seattle circa around 30 years ago.
As you may know, I'm in the process of ...
Coach Zorn introduces the team to dodgeball
Hogs Haven —
Per Redskins Insider:
Zorn, who has a reputation for "thinking outside the box" (hate that term but I'm kinda rushing here so I'm taking a lazy cop-out), brought out some huge silver exercise balls and started up a game of dodgeball. For real.
One quarterback held the ball in the pocket and the other ...
Do not intrigue us long, Coach Zorn
Hogs Haven —
I love Coach Zorn and have Great Expectations for the coming season, so don't interpret this as even a modest criticism of the coach, but I don't know if an "intriguing" is really all that preferable (at least in the meaning used below) a quality in coaches. George Halas circa 1962, for example, probably wasn't the most "intriguing" guy; he had coached 427 regular season games to that point and won 281 of them or, put differently, roughly 65.8% of the games he coached he won. He also had five (of his six) NFL Championships behind him. That he won eleven games the following year was hardly that much of a surprise and neither was he. ...
What The Seahawks Really Work On At Training Camp
Sportable.com —
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfGZsPLDkY8
This video is a few years old (notice coach Jim Zorn has moved on to the Redskins and Shaun Alexander is no longer a Seahawk) and came from one of Kenny Mayne’s segments on NFL Live. Despite it’s age, it’s incredibly funny and is worth revisiting. Best part ...
For those of you missing the NFL
Outside the Boxscore —
Here's a classic video from ESPN of the Seattle Seahawks practicing their QB slides, along with some other important football (and life) skills.
