Big Papi prefers Pink Panther, apparently
Red Sox Monster —
Continuing its recent brilliance since being launched last week, Sean Casey's blog on WEEI.com now includes some deep, profound thoughts from one David Ortiz. As in, what are the big guy's favorite movies of all-time? Frankly, he had me at Pink Panther : Well, that was all over the place, considering "Anna Likes This" doesn't really pop up on Amazon . Anaconda , though? And Rambo 3 !?!? Give me more, Mr. Mayor. Give me more.
David Ortiz has a odd Top 5 movie list
Sports Crackle Pop —
Red Sox Monster has video of Sean Casey asking David Ortiz to name his 5 favorite movies. Of course there was no Braveheart, Shawshank, or Glory. Rather Big Papi named Rambo III and the Pink Panther as part of his favorites. I am going to guess this whole thing was made in jest, although Anaconda with Ice Cube and Jennifer Lopez was pretty darn good.
HISPANIC GUYS LIKE SCARFACE? WHHAAA?
With Leather —
Red Sox first baseman Sean Casey held an interview with teammate Big Father (that’s the translation guys!!) David Ortiz asking the slugger to name his favorite movies. True to his Latin American background, Ortiz had to go with Scarface first, lest he be banned from mall airbrush T-shirt stands the world over. Nice of him to specify which version, because I really had him pegged as a big fan of the 1932 Howard Hawks original. Of course, he couldn’t do the same with his fifth favorite, The Pink Panther. Well, which is it: Peter Sellers or Steve ...
Big Papi, David Ortiz Favorite Movies, Sean Casey, Video
NESW Sports, Sports Videos —
Big Papi, David Ortiz Favorite Movies, Sean Casey, Video. The hat tip for this video goes to the best Red Sox blog in the land, Red Sox Monster! What I like best about this video is that it might as well be called Big Papi’s favorite movie. After he names Scarface, it all goes down hill. I am 95 percent sure that when Manny Ramirez stepped on the plain to go to LA that David Ortiz said “Say goodbye to the bad guy”. I am also 95% sure that he introduces Pedrioa as “His little friend”.

David Ortiz has an unusual taste in movies
Small White Ball —
i'm sure this is a joke, but teammate Sean Casey "interviewed" David Ortiz recently on his Top 5 favorite movies of all time. Let's just say his selections were...different? If you have some extra time, check out some of the other clips on Farnsworth33's YouTube feed which is the handle for WEEI.com writer/personality Rob Bradford. Found via Sports Crackle Pop via Red Sox Monster. Josh Nason started Small White Ball in 2007 and is the main contributor of content for the site. A long-time writer, his work can also be read at sites like RopesRingandCage.com, ...

Bring on the playoffs. If there was any doubt about the health of Josh Beckett, he stomped it out last night. Knowing he was on a limited pitch count, Beckett made the most of the pitches he had: 49 of his 80 pitches were strikes. He went five for the win, striking out seven while walking none and surrendering just four hits. Meanwhile, the "throw in" to the Beckett deal, Mike Lowell, also returned from the DL last night. All he did was go 3-for-5 with a homerun and four RBI. Safe to say, both of these guys are locked and loaded for the post-season. Without further ado, I bring you the funniest one-minute ...

So, Matt Light isn’t getting suspended, but he does have to pay $15,000. Did you know that the Steelers have the most quarterback sacks coming from the right side of any team in the NFL? Best part: Joey Porter apologizing to his coach and teammates. I know it isn’t directly related, but any time we can publicize a Porter humble-pie moment it is our duty.

Sox first baseman Sean Casey retires
Red Sox Monster —
The Mayor is no longer in office. Sean Casey, the wacky, fun-loving first baseman who struggled to get off the bench for the Red Sox last season despite hitting .322 , has retired, according to Rob Bradford at WEEI.com . On the field, the decision shouldn't hurt the Sox too much. Mark Kotsay is back, and there's hypothetically enough good bats on the bench that someone should be able to step up and deliver the kind of quality hitting for which Casey is known. Off the field, though? File this one under drastic disappointment, since we'll lose out on moments such as him crawling back to second base this summer. From Sox & ...
