Yeah, I can um, dribble.   I can still run the break.    I still got my wheels.     I can still play.

And ... that's why we rarely see Shaq's dribbling skills.

Anyone that is making fun of Shaq Diesel should go to their local YMCA and try to play basketball with a golf ball. That is what a basketball is to a man on his stature. :-)

Try running the break with a tennis ball sometime.

I hope this is is last year. It is getting hard to stand up for him. :-)

Yall remember the All Star game where he ran it down the court and was going between his legs and stuff. That was awesome.

Shaq should retire after this year and the new TNT crew should just be Shaq and Barkley.

Love the dish at the end. The big man might want to have his court vision checked for nearsightedness.

He probably got confused from watching Steve Nash all the time, and just started assuming that when you're on the Suns, no-look passes always go to your teammates.

Shaq Is Player, Crushes A Lot
SLAM Online — by Russ Bengtson The Suns need to reinforce the baskets at their practice facility so the Big Fella doesn’t do this again. Or this. Or even this (word to Bill Raftery). ...

Shaq-Proof Hoops Requested By His New Suns Teammates
FanIQ Blog — One of my earliest Shaq memories was this highlight of him taking down the entire basket apparatus in what was then the very new America West Arena. So it's little surprise that after Shaquille's first practice with the Phoenix Suns that his new teammates are asking that their arena make sure the hoops are 'Shaq-Proof.' “Basically, they’ve said they don’t have the confidence to be under those baskets right now,” one Suns official said. “And I can’t say I blame them.” Apparently these requests were ...

Suns forced to "Shaq-proof" their hoops
on 205th magazine: Stuff Guys Like. [Pop Culture For Men] — The Suns' signing of Shaquille O'Neal has brought about an unexpected change in the equipment the team is using for their practices. It seems that the players on the team are scared of being underneath one of their practice hoops and having this happen... After watching a few of Shaq’s thunderous dunks during a personal workout Sunday and in practice Monday, some of his new teammates have strongly requested that the team reinforce the apparatus currently supporting the two baskets at the team’s practice court. Can you really blame them? I mean we all know the damage a basketball hoop can cause. H/T: FanIQ Sports Blog ...

Shaq Won't Take Nash's Job Anytime Soon
FanHouse — ... I was actually dreading that Shaq would end up making the shot at the end since it'd only encourage him to do this more often. The crazy part is that he could have easily held up or passed to a teammate at a few different times. I guess $20 million doesn't buy as much basketball IQ as it used to. Must be the recession. For what it's worth, the play hardly ended up mattering: the Suns coasted to a 132-117 win, with Shaq pitching in 20 and 12. (via BallHype)   Permalink | Email this |  ...

Shaq running the floor
Hail Mary Jane — So it’s rare that we get the chance to see Shaquille O’neal running the floor but occasionally we get the opportunity to see him show off his ball handling skills and actually running the floor. Last night was one of those nights. Tags: shaquille o neal

Screw Nash, Shaq Should Run the Point
Larry Brown Sports — If you missed the Suns game Monday night, you missed Shaq go all vintage early-90s on us. It was quite the spectacle. Enjoy the enjoyment: You know that old line that Shaq is a point guard stuck inside a big man’s body? I think it’s probably true. Man does he love handling the rock. Someone just needs to remind him to forget about the no-look passes. Video via Ballhype. And yes, I jacked the title from a comment left on YouTube ...

Shaquille O'Neal Remains Hilarious, Loves His Phoenix Suns Trainers
FanIQ Blog — Say what you will about Shaq, but the man is as hilarious and entertaining a player as there is in the NBA. If you don't agree with that opinion, you're likely a Lakers fan that sided with Kobe during the divorce or a Western Conference rival who's watched your team lose to him far too many times. O'Neal, or should I say Big Cactus is very much appreciative of his Phoenix Suns training staff. (vid via BDL) "730 days left, the Shogun's reign will be over. There will be no more. I have killed them all." As funny as this clip was, he might ...

2007-08 NBA Worsties: Part 6
Basketbawful — Okay, okay. I've been promising Part 6 of the 2007-08 Worsties for a few weeks now. It's time to deliver. This installment covers the end of the regular season leading into the playoffs. Creepy merchandising: The NBA marketing geniuses unveiled a series of mildly disturbing bobblepop dolls, the creepiest of which was, without question, the Steve Nash version (although the Dirk Nowitzki bobblepop came close). Poor "Nash" looks like the mutant love child of Pee-wee Herman and Annie Lennox. Which pretty much means it just looks like Annie Lennox. Sweet dreams are not ...

The Infinite List of Cool Things About the NBA
Basketball Fiend — Jordan is one of the coolest things about the NBA. The NBA is filled with all kinds of cool things. In fact, so many cool things that it’s virtually impossible to document them all. But I’m damn sure going to try. Below you’ll find a list of the things that I think are cool about the NBA (ranging from past to present, from on the court to off-court) in no particular order. The reason I call this an infinite list is that I want it to be a living document, meaning I hope you’ll continue to add to it by leaving comments in the section below or sending tips to me by e-mail at pecrawley@gmail.com ...
