Video: Bird Helps Indians Beat Royals
Sports of Boston —
The Royals have found many ways to lose over the years. But, Thursday night’s loss against the Indians takes the cake.
Other than those ridiculous midges helped the Indians beat the Yankees in the 2007 playoffs, I don’t remember animals or bugs directly leading to the result of a game. Thursday, the Indians received help from a flock of birds. Shin-Soo Choo hit a game-winning RBI single that may have been caught, but it hit a bird on the ground in center field and got by Coco Crisp. Check out the video for yourself: ...

The Big Lead —
Indians 4, Royals 3: Maybe the birds distracted Coco Crisp? I’d say the birds played a rather significant role in this bizarre walk-off. There is simply no other park in baseball that shares an Ace Ventura-like bond with animals and insects quite like Jacobs Field. Not a bad start by Zack Greinke, but it’s safe to say he’s come back to earth. In his last three starts, he’s allowed three or more runs, whereas in his 10 starts prior to those, he had allowed more than one run just twice.

That’s an Error on the Gull
The Slanch Report —
Last night’s Indians/Royals game featured one of the weirdest endings to a game in a long time; in the bottom of the 10th inning, tied 3-3 with 2 men on and no outs, Indians outfielder Shin-Soo Choo hit a single out to center and before Royals CF Coco Crisp could field the ball, it strikes a bird, part of a flock lazing on the field, and the ...
Indians Beat Royals Because a Ball Hit a Bird, Video
NESW Sports, Sports Videos —
Indians Beat Royals Because a Ball Hit a Bird, Video. Awesome! I never thought I would be posting a video from an Indians vs Royals game. First, because MLB does not understand video on the internet, and might even take this video down shortly. Second, it is the Royals and Indians.
This is crazy. It’s the bottom of the 10th and Cleveland wins 4-3. Hat tip Extra Mustard.
Seagulls Can be Costly
The Off-Color Commentator —
I'm sure you've seen this video by now of a seagull running interference to help the Tribe win a game at Jacobs Field. But you may not have heard this: about a guy who bet $21,750 on the Royals in that game, and was in pretty good shape to collect his winnings until a late rally that culminated with the aforementioned bird incident. That, as we say in the business, sucks. ...
