GOLD: This time, Team USA rolled with the NBA's best
Milwaukee Bucks Blog - The Bob Boozer Jinx — The job is done, but not without a few tense moments in the 118-107 gold medal victory over a talented and resilient Spain team. The Redeem Team has returned the basketball gold to its home turf, and there are six words that describe how and why it happened better than barrelfuls of ink or kilobyte upon kilobyte of analysis ever could. Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade. (Thazz a party - and it looks like Carmelo's into the silly weed ...but back to our story) The three stars -- two of whom, Lebron and D-Wade ...

Sunday Night Open Run (For Reals This Time)
World Hoops Blog — I had a chance to watch the rebroadcast of USA v Spain for the gold. And I'll tell you, I haven't enjoyed watching sports that much in a hell of a long time. Watching Kobe take over the fourth quarter was awesome. And it proved that the best and richest players in the world can still play for love, honor and respect of the game. Team Signing Bonus and KoBron, signing off. :: Hoops Addict: Wade ...

A little more Olympic follow up
Cavs Board — [image] Team USA is back on top, and now that the Olympics are over, it will be back to NBA related stories, but it’s worth taking a follow up look to tie up some loose ends.  After the game, it was mostly Wade and Kobe but here’s some of what Lebron had to say about the American’s return to the top of the basketball world. From the Plain Dealer:“Much respect to Spain, but the U.S. is back on top again,” Cavaliers superstar and Akron native LeBron James said.“We were asked if we wanted to make a commitment to this,” said James, who had 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. “To do something we have never done before — win a gold medal.” “We had a game plan, and ...

In the end it was about "the 3 letters in the front of the jersey"
theorangesports.blogspot.com 8/24/2008 — It wasn't the final game that a lot of people might have thought it would be. Spain hung on for dear life for all of the forty minutes, and they probably earned a lot of respect from both the USA Team and the fans in attendance at the gold medal game. But when it was down to who is going to do what at this game the Spaniards were gutsy and brave, but just weren't good enough to overcome the US.
