Yell Leader Is Sent Packing
Published 12/29/2007 by dawizofodds at The Wizard of Odds
Here's the best video yet of the Texas A&M Yell Leader saying, "Joe Paterno's on his death bed! And someone needs to find him a casket!" A&M officials sent the unidentified Yell Leader home and spent Friday apologizing profusely for the remarks. Paterno shrugged it off. "Hey, sticks and stones," the 81-year-old Penn State coach said. "That's what my mom used to say to me when they used to call me a 'wop' [a slur against his Italian heritage] when I was walking down the street." Thanks to Snead for posting a link to the YouTube video.
Viewing Guide: Bowl Season Volume III

Recapping previous action…
Purdue won the I Went to Detroit and All I Got Was This Bowl Bowl with a field goal as time expired. On the arm of Curtis Painter and his 546 yards passing, Purdue mounted 21-point leads three different times in the game. Central Michigan rallied in the 3rd quarter with 28 points but Chris Summers hit a 40-yard field goal as time expired to win the game for the Boilermakers. Central Michigan performed admirably, especially considering the distractions of their 1st year head coach Butch Jones interviewing for the vacated West Virginia job.

An interview with Mack Brown’s stepson, Chris Jessie, who almost became the next Steve Bartman at Thursday’s Holiday Bowl (sorry for the poor video quality):
Here’s video of the Texas A&M yell leader saying that Penn State coach Joe Paterno is on his deathbed, and that someone needs to find him a casket:

Joe Paterno "Casket" Yeller Found

I'm so glad this douchebag got booed when he made the comments I mentioned the other day. This "cheerleader" was trying to get the crowd riled up when he thought it would be a good idea to mention that Joe Paterno was on his death bed.... People like this should be banned from ever touching a microphone. I Told You Bowl Season Didn't Start Until The Crazy Came (Here It Comes Again) (Awful Announcing)
Alamo Bowl: Penn State Nittany Lions vs Texas A&M Aggies Live Thread
Published 12/30/2007 at FanIQ Blog
Unfortunately, the Alamo will be remembered for this fine gent from Aggieland who thinks we need to find a casket for Joe Paterno. I can't say he's all that wrong, but probably not the thing you want to say in front of mixed party pep rally.
Why I'm picking Penn State: The Nittany Lions defense should match-up perfectly against the strengths of the Aggie offense. I like the overhyped Derrick Williams to make good with a couple special teams plays to change field position. Close game, Penn State wins with a late field goal.
Why I could be wrong: Anthony Morelli is the next ...

The least you should know about the Alamo Bowl... Sponsor Id never heard of Valero gas stations when I lived in Mississippi, but in Texas, those big teal signs are everywhere. If I stop there, its out of convenience, not advertising or sponsorships, but the ...
The Week Of Bowls For Which NU Failed to Qualify
Published 12/31/2007 at Big Red Network
I had a wonderful Holiday season, filled with family and celebration. I'm looking forward to a rocking New Year's Eve with my wife and our friends. (We got a sitter...we're going out!). But, all of the merriment aside, there was an empty place in my heart as I watched the pre New Year's Day bowls this year. This was the week of games for which NU failed to qualify. Alas, no Shreveport, San Antonio or San Diego for Herbie's vacation. The least I can do to alleviate the pain is to offer my impressions of the Big 12 participants who did get to play this week. Around the Big 12

There isn't any real K-State news right now, so I decided to check in with the other Big 12 schools to see what they are up to. But first, a new segment here at BOTC... BOTC's Enemy of the State Please welcome, Mark Mangino! Now of course, this isn't really breaking any new ground, because any coach of that school down the river is a de facto enemy of Wildcat Nation. But besides actually winning a couple football games against K-State, Mangino is doing his best to solidify the enmity of every man, woman and child wearing purple from coast-to-coast. It started after the ...
Classless Acts of 2007
Published 1/28/2008 by dawizofodds at The Wizard of Odds
If you thought a Classless Act was any type of behavior that could be considered degrading to the game, well, your right. We're back again with Classless Acts of the 2007 season. None of the Rich Rodriguez-West Virginia content is included because that situation has spilled well into 2008 and will be considered next year. There are several strong candidates and once again, we've opened this to voting. You get only one vote, so choose carefully. Here we go: 1. Texas A&M and Dennis Franchione: There was a lot that went down in College State so we decided to group it together. As a season ...
