Recapping previous action… Purdue won the I Went to Detroit and All I Got Was This Bowl Bowl with a field goal as time expired. On the arm of Curtis Painter and his 546 yards passing, Purdue mounted 21-point leads three different times in the game. Central Michigan rallied in the 3rd quarter with 28 points but Chris Summers hit a 40-yard field goal as time expired to win the game for the Boilermakers. I had a wonderful Holiday season, filled with family and celebration. I'm looking forward to a rocking New Year's Eve with my wife and our friends. (We got a sitter...we're going out!). But, all of the merriment aside, there was an empty place in my heart as I watched the pre New Year's Day bowls this year. This was the week of games for which NU failed to qualify.
