... I found clip on Ballhype and I really had no choice but to share it with all of you. I know Baron is a flopper, but this brings the term “flopping” to a whole new level. He really goes for the kill here, considering the ball isn’t even in play. Take a look: ...

Here’s Baron Davis and Mehmet Okur. Can you guess which one flopped worse than an Serie A Italian soccer club player? I’ll give you a hint, it’s the dude with the beard and white jersey.

Play of the Week
Published 11/6/2007 by i-Maque at postgameheroes.com
NFL, meet James Harrison: King of the Body Slam | Home Play of the Week By i-Maque | November 6, 2007 Sure, Adrian Peterson rushed for almost a billion yards and all sorts of other players had career games, but I don’t care about any of that. As far as I’m concerned, the play of the week was made by the Lions’ 6′4″ 340 lbs DT, Shaun Rogers. It wasn’t just that he returned an interception 66 yards for a touchdown, but it’s also his brilliant stiff-arm just before he gets into the endzone. Observe: Baron Davis also gets an honorable mention for his flop. The acting is worthy of an Italian Serie A soccer player. Good ...

Somehow, this Baron Davis flop didn't quite make the "Where Amazing Happens" commercials. And yet I can't be mad about it, because Baron Davis reps Oaktown and keeps it "real," while Mehmet Okur plays for Utah. I just can't feel sympathy for the Jazz. Their team bus could get into fiery wreck, and I'd be all, "I hope the driver is okay." [BallHype via The Postmen]
Baron Davis May Have an Inner Ear Condition

... ball back after Okur got whistled for traveling not enough? Was doing an acting job just to get a pair of free throws really worth your pride? Maybe, maaaybe I'd write this off as gamesmanship if it happened during the final minutes of a hotly-contested game, but not when it occurs just a few minutes after halftime. Blatant flops like this deserve technical fouls, even if they're assessed after the fact by an official watching video from the sidelines.(via Ballhype) Permalink | Email this | ...
Baron Davis Flop: NBA Needs to Make This a Technical Foul
Published 11/6/2007 at FanIQ Blog
Baron Davis sees Manu Ginobili and raises him the ridiculous flop above. Somehow it happened on opening night, yet it's just now making the blog rounds. Baron, I'm embarrassed for you. Luckily the official didn't bite which is rare.
I think we can all agree that flopping is detrimental to the flow of the game and damages the spectator experience. Now, how strongly we feel about that definitely varies. Where do I stand?
Flops like this need to be a technical foul. T him up. What do you think?

Baron Davis wants the fans to throw flares next time.
Published 11/8/2007 by Staff at Amaechi's Former Playground
This video gave me a reason to post this little gem. The Jazz are up by 7 right now against the Cavs in the 4th quarter, but their defense has been pretty bad. I know Memo is from Europe and he is used to the flows and the faking, what is Davis's excuse. I almost expected to see a flare thrown out on the floor, Golden State if you want to throw one just aim for Jaron Collins. Davis needs some practice, but he has the ability to be one of the best I think.

New Jersey Nets Basketball: Don't Stop Believ -- [Nba Closer]
Published 11/20/2007 by Rick at Deadspin
A lot has been made of the New York Knicks' woes, and rightfully so. But what of the New Jersey Nets? Monday's 102-75 loss to the Jazz was the Nets' sixth straight. I'm only glad that Tony Soprano didn't live to see this.
Deron Williams had 20 points and Ronnie Brewer had 14 points and five steals for Utah. "It feels good to get home and get the crowd behind us. We came out from the start and we're able to do what we wanted to. We were able to get out in transition and run and establish ourselves," Williams said. Carlos Boozer scored 17 points to help the Jazz improve to 5-1 at home. The Great Mehmet Okur had 14 points ...

Endangered Species List Now Includes The NBA Flop [Floppin]

Pinch me. I have to be dreaming. Wait. I don't see Gwen Stefani naked and covered in JELL-O brand gelatin. I guess I'm awake. But, then, can it be? Is the NBA really going to crack down on the Great Flopping Menace? The answer to this question seems to be ... continued after the cut. (Gotcha!)
Yes. The answer is yes. The NBA has announced to its teams that, starting as soon as the Lakers and Spurs are finished using them (i.e., next season), players will be fined for each and every clear case of flopping. What is a "flop," you ask? First off, let me welcome you to our world, mysterious spaceman from ...
NBA to institute fines for flopping
Published 5/30/2008 by Stu Holdren (noreply@blogger.com) at NBA Noise
As much as the game is entertainment, these days some players are making there money from some incredible acting skills. I'm not talking about Shaq in Kazaam, or even Dennis Rodman in that Jean Claude Van Dam movie (what the hell was that called again?). I'm referring to the Manu Ginobilis and Vlade Divacs of the world. The segment of players who are considered to be "floppers" - wildly flailing at the slightest touch as if a major assault were just laid upon their face. Although the specific amounts have yet to be disclosed, the NBA will start instituting fines for players "flopping". Stu Jackson, the NBA ...
