Playoffs 2007-08. How Sweet It Is.
Basketball Exchange —
I woke up this morning (true story), feeling uninspired. But as my head rolled around my pillow trying to think of what to do today, I caught site of some memorabilia of a time when I interviewed someone from the NBA two years ago, and I realized something. Something that woke me up immediately.
I realized that it’s nearly the Playoffs. Now, doesn’t that get you excited? Is this mic on? Are you hearing me clearly? It’s . The . Playoffs. ...

I know they're creepy. They are. But God, it's time. It's really time. It's playoff time.

With Malice - An LA Lakers blog, news and opinions —
Saw my first of these on J.E. Skeet’s Ball Don’t Lie, and the clips from the NBA&’s “There can only be one…(champion)” promotion - well worth a look.

Lakers and Kobe Bryant Lead Rankings on NBA.com - NBA Launches Playoff Ad Campaign
Sports Business Radio blogs —
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently leading three major traffic categories on NBA.com this 2007-08 NBA season. Lakers guard Kobe Bryant leads the top 10 list as the most popular NBA player page on NBA.com, with more than 2.5 million page views received to date, marking the second straight season his player page has been the most viewed. Lakers trade acquisition Pau Gasol currently leads all international players with more than 1.3 million page views, and the Lakers are leading all NBA team Web sites with nearly 50 million page views to date. (Frankly I am shocked that Yao Ming is not the top viewed international player).

The Play In California —
Hey there kids, Bears Necessity here for the weekend. You might remember KC Cal (a freaking Golden Bear) wailing like a little schoolgirl over his atrocious picks and his UCLA Lovefest falling flat gracefully accepting defeat like a man. He learned what happened if one decided to go with the Baby Bears and betray the real Gold and Blue. He'd get eaten alive. This is my first year winning a pool of any sort, so I don't think I'm the mentor you should seek about cashing out on college basketball (especially considering how I went from $150 to -$20 after Memphis choked the bone). If you want any constructive ...
NBA Ads *Synchronized Blink* Haunt My Dreams *Synchronized Blink*
Dejuiced! Sports News with No Boundaries —
This weekend, the wildly anticipated NBA playoffs began. And while there were some great games, for me, the lasting image is half-Kobe-half-Shaq lecturing me on fear. Though the commercials have been around for a while now, they’ve received heavy rotation during the playoffs. I actually thought the commercials were pretty neat, if a bit unsettling. I was especially impressed how they managed to sync up the speech from each player to create an odd stereo effect. I was noting this when my friend brought their eyes to my attention. They blink at the same time! Ahhhhhh! Don’t believe me, check for yourself. ...
There Can Only Be One: NBA TV Ads Inspire Time Mag's Political Cover
FanIQ Blog —
If you've watched more than five minutes of NBA basketball over the last month you've seen the "There Can Only Be" split screen advertisements that are incredibly captivating and effective.
So much so, Time Magazine took notice and has copied the concept for it's May 5th cover.
That's unbelievable. Just the thought that a sports advertisements could have any effect whatsoever on political coverage is stunning.
With the "Where Amazing Happens" campaign earlier this year, and now the esteemed "There Can Only Be One," this is an all time great ...

Shaq Pulling for Kobe in NBA Finals
Lang Greene's Posts - Hoops Vine —
So According to the Orlando Sentinel, Shaquille O’Neal posted the following message on his Twitter account, “thats right i am saying it today and today only, i want kobe bryant to get number 4, spread da word.”
My dad always told me that maturity, better known as old age, usually brings wisdom along for the ride. I’m taking Shaq’s well wishes as sincere. Two main reasons - the man won three championships with Kobe as his wingman and when the Hall of Fame calls, everyone will reference his career as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Of course there are other reasons that could be steering the Big Diesel toward his ...
