Washington's Tim Morris deserves to be socked in the face
Published 2/11/2008 at The Dagger
This is my first post here on Yahoo!'s college basketball blog,
and what better way to get the ball rolling than to advocate an
act of savage violence against a student-athlete?
This isn't something I do often; or ever, really. And believe me,
if you happen to be in the Seattle area today, and you spot him
walking around campus, I do not recommend walking up to
Tim Morris and punching him in the mouth.
But if something unforeseen happened, and the young man did take a
shot in the face, I'd just have to see that as an act of karma.
If you missed it, late in the 2nd-half of Washington's
hard-fought ...
Wash-UCLA: Tim Morris Drills Alfred Aboya In The Face With Inbounds Pass
Published 2/11/2008 at FanIQ Blog
It's not uncommon to see the inbounds passer throw the ball of an opponent in desperation as the 5-second violation nears. However, it is a little odd (and hilarious) to see the ball thrown directly at the guy's face with gusto. Hey, whatever works right?
Video also provides Slow-Mo goodness at the end.
We're guessing Tim Morris has a lot of new friends in the land of Troy.
Tim Morris is a classless jackass

Here is the video of Tim Morris pegging Alfred Aboya as hard as he can in the face with the basketball . No excuses dude, the guy just had a fracture in the orbital bone of his face…and even if he didn’t…have some freakin’ decency. Tim Morris is gonna get his own chant next time he is in Pauley.Â
NCAA Hoops is Living Up To Its Maddening Reputation
Published 2/11/2008 by Paul Gotham at Bleacher Report
February is living up to its reputation here in the northeast. Single digit temperatures combined with forty mile per hour gusts have denizens shivering. Mix today’s weather conditions with Saturday’s air in the forty degree range, and my yard has become a sheet of glass - anyone for a little back yard hockey?
Also living up to its reputation is college hoops. With March around the corner and teams vying for an invite to the dance, college basketball is its usual maddening self.
UNC needed two overtimes, a chair, and a whip to fend off the Tigers of Clemson. The Huskies of Washington disposed of #4 UCLA. Louisville impounded ...
Tim Morris Throws Ball Off Alfred Aboya's Face as Washington Beats UCLA
Published 2/11/2008 by Michael David Smith at FanHouse
Filed under: UCLA Basketball, Washington Basketball, Pac-10 Basketball, NCAA Basketball VideoUCLA lost to Washington Sunday, and the play everyone is talking about is this inbounds pass with 47 seconds left, when Washington guard Tim Morris threw the ball directly into the face of UCLA forward Alfred Aboya: Was it a dirty play on the part of Morris, or a heads-up move to avoid a five seconds penalty? I'd vote for dirty, but I appear to be out-voted by the participants themselves. The Seattle Times reports:
Morris immediately tried to ...
You stay classy, Washington
Published 2/11/2008 by Gilbert at Obscure Sports Quarterly
Toward the end of yesterday’s UCLA-Washington game I saw one of the most classless, indefensible plays I’ve ever seen. Tim Morris, not being able to find anyone to inbound the ball to, threw the ball really hard right at Alfred Aboya’s face.
Horrible.
I would completely understand ...
Hey, inbounds passes can be hard

Here's the fantastic video of Washington's Tim Morris bouncing the ball off UCLA's Alfred Aboya's face late in the Huskies' 71-61 win over UCLA. Morris was trying to inbound with 47 seconds left, couldn't find anyone to pass to, and bounced it off Aboya's face to get a fresh five seconds. Morris was then able to inbound, which led to a UW score and victory. Hey, the Huskies will take wins anyway they can get them.
Tim Morris Is Mean
Published 2/11/2008 by Vegas Watch at Vegas Watch
The following video is from Sunday's UCLA-Washington game (the Huskies upset the Bruins, 71-61). Washington's Tim Morris is attempting to inbound the ball in the last minute of the game. Alfred Aboya is defending him. The Huskies have no timeouts left (this is important). I understand the necessity to do something in that situation. And yeah, I guess in some sense it is a "smart play", as the announcer notes. But it really seems unnecessary to wind up and throw the ball off the guy's face as hard as you can. Why not throw it off his knee, or thigh, like, you know, ...

Here is the video of one of the dirtiest plays in college hoops we have seen in a while: May be someone can get a better video of that? It sounds like the Pac-10 office is now being vague about this cheap shot. From Dohn: ...
Tim Morris is still a Jackass

“We’ve got the count on, and Aboya goes straight up, and he goes pretty high, and he comes straight back down and just as (Morris) is starting to in-bounds the ball, he jumps to the right and takes one in the face,” McCabe said. “If it’s intentional, it’s a technical foul. That’s unsporting. We don’t want that. We don’t want people bouncing the ball off people’s faces.” McCabe said he spoke with the officials from the game, including Mark Reischling, who was responsible for the sideline.“I think (Reischling) was caught off guard a little bit,” McCabe said. “It surprises you at that point. His first thought was, ‘That wasn’t intentional. He was trying ...

Roy returns, but Blazers lose... Brandon Roy felt the effects of missing two games to attend a relative's funeral, telling the Oregonian's Joe Freeman: "I felt a little rusty. I was trying to find my rhythm again." His return was more important for the impact he has on the rest of the team, writes Dave of Blazers' Edge: "The very first thing we need to acknowledge is the difference Brandon Roy makes in our intangibles, most notably attitude. From moment one you could see it in every line of most every body out there...Tonight we came out with purposeful movement and confidence. That's Brandon Roy's influence. Also, ...
