Is Tom Brady Laughing at Plaxico Burress' Prediction Now?
Published 2/4/2008 by Sportz Assassin at FanHouse
Filed under: NY Giants, Patriots, AFC East, NFC East, NFL Video, Boston, Super Bowl, New York Last week, Giants' receiver Plaxico Burress predicted a 23-17 win over the Patriots. We all laughed. Not so much that he thought that New York would win but that New England would only score 17 points. I mean ... this is the highest scoring offense in the history of the NFL. Later on, Tom Brady wondered why Plaxico lowballed the Patriots score, too.
"We're only going to score 17 ...
Super Bowl Stunner: ‘Only 17 Points?’

This clip should be played before introducing any Super Bowl 42 highlight, from now to eternity. The Super Bowl posts will come fast and furious today.
Chester Pitts Provides the Best SB Spot

I did a Top Five Super Bowl Commercials thing over at Yahoo! and didn’t include any FOX or NFL promos, regardless of how radical it is that Idol contestants are allowed to play instruments this season. That said, the Chester Pitts oboe player/grocery clerk-turned-NFL lineman clip was my favorite spot of the night.
Also, anyone catch Chest Buckhantz’ cameo in Coke’s Carville-Frist spot?
Also pt. 2, not actually a commercial, but Tom Brady for Smug Cologne.
17 Points? Turns Out Plaxico Burress Was Being Generous, Tom Brady

You knew I wasn't going to go all morning without posting this video (and pointing out again I picked this) of Tom Brady reacting to Plaxico Burress' 23-17 prediction.
Turns out Plax was being generous by giving New England that many points.

Super Bowl and Some Links

I wasn't really planning on writing a whole lot about the Super Bowl, not because I didn't expect a good game, but because the media coverage of the Big Game is overblown beyond belief. It was an unbelievable game (with an absolutely awesome result) but any more coverage will simply drive me nuts. I'm not going to write much about it. ...
18-1 Patriots: How will history remember them?
Published 2/4/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
After last nights completely disappointing loss for the the Patriots, how will they be remembered?
18-1 is a great season but you have to win the Super Bowl. Prior to the Patriots doing it this season, there were only two other teams to go 18-1 in history. The 1984 49ers and the 1985 Bears both went 18-1 as well, the only difference is that they both won the Super Bowl that year. For the 2007 Patriots, 18-1 = Failure.
I don’t know how history will remember these Patriots but I know how I will. I will remember Spygate as forever tarnishing the so-called Patriots dynasty. Last nights game just goes to show what ...
