Tony Romo Poor At Holding For Field Goals, Carrying A Tune
Published 5/12/2008 by Andy Smith at Bugs & Cranks
Cowboys quarterback and Eastern Illinois graduate Tony Romo was it the Cubs game yesterday, throwing out the first pitch and leading the crowd in the traditional seventh inning rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” The throwing part went well. The singing part…not so much. Sadly, he still may have a better voice than his significant other.

Tony Romo butchers the 7th Inning Stretch at Wrigley Field
Published 5/12/2008 at Big League Stew
Since I used a post on Friday to do my best Simon Cowell impersonation on Amanda Overmyer and her rendition of the National Anthem at the Cubs-D'Backs game, it's only fair that I also post Tony Romo's "singing" of Take Me Out To The Ballgame. Perhaps needless to say, it is much, much worse than Ms. Overmyer's needless "interpretation." While I like Romo as much as a Bears fan can (I spent some time in his hometown in Wisconsin last season and he's as humble a star you could meet), this is about as bad as it gets. I never thought I'd say ...

You Got Ro–Oh God, No!

Tony Romo made a recent stop at Wrigley Field where he lead the crowd in a rendition of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. In a shocking twist that nobody saw coming, he was fucking terrible. Clearly he’s trying to endear himself to the Simpson ladies. That performance showed the vocal range we’d expect from Jessica and all of the uncomfortable moments that make Ashley’s performances so special. Harry Caray’s corpse has more charisma as of late. video courtesy of Bugs and Cranks ShareThis

Let’s hope tonight goes better

This is has been posted everywhere today, but I don’t give an eff. It’s been a stressful day, and all I can think about is an Old Style, my Fukudome jersey, and my well-worn seat four rows up in the center field bleachers, all of which I will be indulging in in approximate four hours. It’s a beautiful thing. Less beautiful is Tony Romo’s edition of Take Me Out to the Ballgame, which not only features some truly horrible singing — that would be entirely forgivable — but Romo’s apparent embarrassment at how bad he was. Any ...

Colts Fans are Everywhere

I've seen the hometown Nationals play twice now in three weeks; once against the Cubs, and yesterday vs. the Marlins.  I, being the Colts homer I am, wore a Colts shirt to the Cubs game, and a Colts hat yesterday.  Both games, I've gotten a "Go Colts!"  I've also seen numerous other coats or T-shirts around town.  DC definitely has a nice ...

Check out Tony Romo's rendition of "Take me out to the ballgame" during yesterday's Cubs game! While this is not one of the worst renditions ever, it is still pretty awful. Thanks to Bugsandcranks for the video... ...

Happy 100th, "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"

2008 marks the 100th anniversary of baseball's unofficial anthem — "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," happily coinciding with how long America's beloved Cubs have stunk. To help celebrate the song that Cubs fans ruined, we take a look at five of our favorite renditions.

Please don’t do it to us Romo
Cowboys Quarterback and certified pretty boy, Tony Romo , was at the Cubs game yesterday . He threw out the first pitch and did his best to sing the 7th inning “Take me out to the ballgame.” He did ok with the throw, I mean he is a Quarterback afterall. The singing part of it was a little questionable though. If you have sensitive ears, don’t play this video, your ears ...
Tony Romo "Sings" Take Me Out to the Ball Game at Wrigley
Noting that a 7th inning stretch was horribly done is nothing new, but at least most of the horrible singers understand they are horrible. Let's just say Tony Romo bobbled the snap and came nowhere near recovering the fumble. Witness the disaster that is Romo singing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' at Wrigley Field on Sunday. This was five interceptions and a fumble at ...
Don't ever pay to hear Tony Romo sing
Those Cubs fans are merciless! Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw out the first pitch at Wrigley Field Sunday before the Cubs-Diamondbacks game, and he was roundly booed. Later on in the game he reappeared to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and got booed even worse. Why was he there in the first place? Romo grew up in Burlington, Wisconsin, 75 miles from Chicago, and he played ...

Tony Romo can't sing
Wow. Check out this clip of Tony Romo singing "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" at the Cubs game. Brutal.  I don't remember the last time I turned off a video so quick.  I think I made it farther into the "2 Chicks 1 Cup" video.
The Jessica Simpson Jinx Extends to Tony Romo’s Song Voice, Too
The well-documented jinxification of Tony Romo has undergone as a result of his relationship with Jessica Simpson has, until recently, been relegated to his QB performance with the Dallas Cowboys . The good news is, the effect apparently did not bleed into other sports. Eastern Illinois alum Romo threw out the first pitch at yesterday’s Chicago Cubs–Arizona Diamondbacks game.  ...
Tony Romo Sucks
There aren't many NFL teams whom I'm groomed to hate more than the Green Bay Packers, but if there's ever been another franchise that I just can't stand, it's the Dallas Cowboys. America's Team my ass. So even though I understand that he went to Eastern Illinois, I don't get why the Cubs chose Tony Romo to throw out a first pitch and sing the stretch. I mean, he's from Brewers country, and
Cubs hint at Bears' needs as Romo throws out first pitch
"Let's just say this was more about the Bears than it was about Tony Romo," said Cubs media relations flack Peter Chase. Oddly enough, that same day the Bears' popular QB tandem of Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman simultaneously threw...
Tony Romo Keeps Showing Up And We Don’t Care
Perhaps inspired by his lady love Jessica Simpson (who obviously was re-inspired by him for her next album ), Tony Romo took his windpipe to the Windy City to try and wow the denizens of Wrigley Field (try being the operative word). The Cowboys QB was invited to sing during the seventh-inning stretch of Sunday’s Cubs game. And as Michael David Smith of AOL FANHOUSE belts out, he ...

Romo Butchers Wrigley, Harry Caray’s Pissed
Tony Romo sang “ Take Me Out To The Ballgame ” Sunday at Wrigley Field . So how did he do? Let’s check with the American Idol judges, Randy, Paula, and Simon. Hey Romo, Stick to Holding Punts
Tony Romo is a born and raised Wisconsin boy. He attended Eastern Illinois University. He claims to be a Cubs fan. But, no Cubs fan would do this. I am a born and raised Marylander/Washingtonian. I grew up a fan of the Orioles, the Capitals, the Redskins, and the Bullets (never the Wizards for me!). I have lived in Chicagoland for over 10 years and have been a die-hard Cubs fan since. ...
