As a current employee of Goodyear i completely dissagree with what was said by Mr Stewart goodyear has more money invested in tires than any company in the world especially Firestone and i agree with the comment that Goodyear only brings Nascar the tire they ask for no other company can compete with the technology that Goodyear brings to the table.... you also have to remember the MAJOR recall on firestone tires that were blowing out and flipping Ford Explorers and other SUVs tell me of 1 recall on Goodyear tires... ~Hmmm makes u think huh?~
and as far as goodyear being "Xed" from other forms of racing thats BS goodyear still produces tires for other racing for example pro outlaw isnt that drag racing ever heard of a Eagle GT 19 go to GOODYEAR.COM and go to products or racing tires u'll see what they are "Xed" out of Tony stewart is an idiot and should get his shit together before goodyear cuts his sponsorship try racing on bare rims Stewart see if u place second in anything but a McDonalds drive thru line.......

Tony Stewart has a very valid point. Yes , maybe it wasn't professional to slam a manufacturer on National TV, but thats the past.

As an avid fan of Nascar , Goodyear needs to re-think it's marketing strategy and affect it has on tire choices of prospective customers. I know myself along with many other fans will NEVER buy a Goodyear tire for our cars ,, anything but was what I told my last vendor.

As far as Marcus being a Goodyear tire store ? , how professional is it for you to slam Firestone ! Give me a break! ,, that recall was only done by Ford & Firestone for customer satisfaction.

It's time for a change and hopefully Nascar is thinking the same thing.

Tony Stewart Endorses Goodyear Tires
Published 3/10/2008 at FanIQ Blog
Or ... not so much. After finishing 2nd in Atlanta, Tony Stewart throws Goodyear tires under the bus RV. Pretty sure Tony will be looking for a new tire supplier this morning. Among his comments: "Worst tires I've ever been on." "I'm going home and taking everything that has Goodyears off and put Firestones on and feel a lot safer. It's a shame these teams that work so hard are being dictated by a company incapable of building tires fit for a street car." "Goodyear can't build a tire worth a crap." ...

Tony Stewart looooves GoodYear tires
Published 3/10/2008 by DCScrap at on 205th magazine: Stuff Guys Like. [Pop Culture For Men]
Smoke was at his finest yesterday as he lit into The Official Tire of NASCAR after finishing way back ... in second. Oh yeah, his teammate Kyle Busch finished in first. Thank goodness they didn't finish near the back or God forbid be involved in a crash. Some highlights for those who can't watch (or listen to) the video: "That's the most pathetic racing tire I've ever been on in my career." "

TONY STEWART DIDN'T LIKE THOSE TIRES
Published 3/10/2008 at With Leather
It was a historic weekend in NASCAR, as Kurt Kyle Busch's win at Atlanta in a Toyota marked the first time that a foreign car company won a Cup race since Jaguar in 1954.  But the real story was Goodyear and its shitty tires that all but prevented side-by-side racing that the track in Atlanta (apparently) usually provides.  Top-ten finishers like Dale Earnhardt, Jr and Jeff Gordon were critical of the tires' performance, but Tony Stewart -- as usual -- was sure to put it in the most insulting, awkward manner on national television. Even if you don't care about ...

First Ever Nascar Post
Published 3/11/2008 by Dave at Sports Blog - football, basketball, and baseball
Rarely do I post Nascar on the site — it’s no secret that I don’t think it’s a sport — but rarely do I get a more entertaining moment than the star of a certain sport bashing the sponsor. Such is the case here, with Tony Stewart, who’s apparently a loud-mouth, bashing Goodyear and their terrible tires. Tires so terrible that he says he’d rather use Firestone (I don’t know if that’s a roast or not). This could only happen in racing, where sponsorship doesn’t pay that well. You think LeBron’s going off on Nike any time soon? Well, maybe we ...

Goodyear, bad day: Tires a testy topic at Atlanta

Tony Stewart slams Goodyear at 2008 Atlanta race Goodyear, bad day: Tires a testy topic at Atlanta - USATODAY.com Goodyear’s response: Finally, we would like to correct an erroneous comment made by Tony Stewart. Goodyear decided to leave other racing series only because of the escalating costs of competition in those series. At least one other tiremaker has done the same. For Goodyear, the enormous investment required to compete in those other forms of racing far outweighed the benefits derived from our participation. We see tremendous benefits in our 54-year relationship with NASCAR as the organizations longest continuing supplier. We remain fully committed ...

Video: Tony Stewart Slams Goodyear Tires

Though he finished second in Sunday's Kobalt Tools 500 won by teammate Kyle Busch , Tony Stewart still wasn't happy. Instead, Stewart felt extremely lucky to have even finished the race in his No. 20 car thanks to the new compound the Goodyear, NASCAR's sole racing tire supplier, brought to Atlanta for the Sprint Cup race. After exiting his car on pit road, he proceeded to rip Goodyear to ...

Why We Should Thank God For Tony Stewart
Yes, I mean that.  Literally.  We should thank God for Tony Stewart. In case you missed his comments after yesterday's Atlanta race, he said aloud what everyone else was muttering under their breath: Goodyear had blown it (again) by bringing a different tire to the race than everyone had tested with earlier.  Adding injury to insult, the tire they brought was a circular ...
