Speed Read: Bonds Steroid Case Suddenly Unclear
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
The Clear. It sounds like the name of a rock band with a vaguely Christian background, but we all know what it really is: the steroid concoction that Barry Bonds and other elite athletes took as part of their training regiments through BALCO labs as a way to cheat the system and produce jaw-dropping, chemically-enhanced performances. Technically, the drug is called tetrahydrogestrinone, otherwise known as THG, but The Clear is clean name for it when used by dirty players.
But YAHOO! SPORTS did some poking around some recently unsealed grand jury testimony from expert witnesses, and found some very interesting ...

FanIQ Blog —
David Letterman brought newly selected MLB Hall of Famers Jim Rice and Rickey Henderson on his show on Tuesday night, and they gave their "Top Ten Highlights Of My Hall Of Fame Baseball Career". I say no. • Speaking of the Coop, Joe Posnanski (as usual) makes some fantastic points . • And finally, watch our newest Hall of Famers take their (comedic) bows .
Name to Know: Fu-Te Ni

At first glance I see a player with a hyphenated name that is only 6 letters long and instantly think to myself, "guess he's not winning the Jarrod Saltalamacchia long name contest". There's more to this rookie lefty from Taiwan than his name. He's come into the Detroit Tigers bullpen exceedingly well- 11 gm, 10.2 ip, 10 k, 2.53 ERA, 1.13 WHIP. Ni had been pitching for the Chinese Professional Baseball League's Chinatrust Whales, but the team disbanded leaving him without employment. Luckily for him and the Tigers, he was signed and reported to the Toledo Mud Hens for the 2009 season. In 24 minor league games he threw 34.2 innings, while ...
