The Spaniards had only waited 44-years to win a major soccer tournament - that's weak, some of us wait around 100 years for certain titles - and with Fernando Torres' 33rd minute chip over Jens Lehmann the "Red Fury" can now celebrate.
Sunday's final wasn't played with as much finesse and precision as many of the previous matches, but I doubt there's a single Spaniard that cares. Spain was one of the best teams throughout the tournament and are more than deserving of finally being able to shed the "choker" label.
