Ben Q. Rock Wow. Talk about hanging your head in shame.
And yeah, Hansbrough got away with a few extra steps there.
-
mmiracle I liked how the big man held his head in shame.
He took a couple of extra steps, but the refs don't have time to count steps these days. They are to worried about the point spreads getting to far out of hand.

Tyler Hansbrough Sends It Home Over 91 Inches of Kenny George
Published 1/10/2008 by Josh Alper at FanHouse
Filed under: UNC Basketball, Mid-Majors Basketball, NCAA Basketball Video In advance of UNC-Asheville's trip to Chapel Hill last night, the New York Times profiled the biggest player in college hoops, 7'7" Kenny George. He leads the nation in blocked shots, could lead Asheville to the Big South conference title and has had to overcome physical and academic infirmity just to make it to the court. He'll almost certainly get a chance in the NBA because, as we all well know, you can't teach height. Yet, for all of that, he'll probably always be remembered as the big ...
CBB: Tyler Hansbrough Dunks On 7'9 Kenny George
Published 1/10/2008 at FanIQ Blog
Your almost daily roundup of college hoops ...
7'9 not tall enough We told you all about UNC-Asheville behemoth Kenny George yesterday and last night you got a chance to see him in action. Well, more like standing. That's basically all he does in between exhaustive trips down the court. It was an entertaining game to watch, and for a while George was holding his own. He finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds in a respectable 93-81 loss to the Tar Heels. As you can see from above, Tyler Hansbrough wasn't impressed and threw down on the big man. ...

At 7-foot-7, Everyone Looks Like a Shrimp
Published 1/10/2008 by TheBigLead at The Big Lead
How terrified does Tyler Hansbrough look? Later, he would dunk on UNC-Ashville’s Kenny George, all 7-foot-7 of him. Also, George wears size 26 shoes.
Leave Kenny George alone
Published 1/10/2008 by PostmanE at The Postmen // A Sports Blog // Chicago, IL.
I didn’t watch last night’s dramatic tilt between UNC and UNC-Asheville; I was too busy drinking Guinness and watching an 80’s band called the Spazzmatics at a local institution. (Commentary: I usually hate cheesy 80’s bands, but I’ve got to admit: the Spazzmatics rocked the house. I’m sure they have a MySpace page, if you’re not too lazy to go search for it.)
But I did hear about some incredible Tyler Hansbrough dunk in my time at the bar last night, and woke up this morning thinking an instant YouTube classic was awaiting me. Instead … it’s ...
Big Kenny Becomes A Household Name
Published 1/10/2008 by Marco at Storming the Floor
You may or may not have noticed on the left-hand column that we have been keeping tabs on Kenny George (along with Ivory) all season. Last night against North Carolina, the world was introduced to Mr. George, in a very big way. ...
Meet the 7'7" Pansy
Published 1/10/2008 by SkinDog at Friends of Crazy Joe Davola
Kenny George is 7'7", Tyler Hansbrough is listed at 6'9"; although it seems to me that George has a good foot on Hansbrough. How does a guy who is 7'7" play for a crap team like UNC-Ashville? You would think on pure size alone he would get a scholarship to a big name program. Hell Shagari Alleyne (Who?) ...
Rick Telander Doesn't Trust Anybody
Published 1/10/2008 by Fornelli at Foul Balls
I didn't see Rick Telander's column in the Chicago Sun-Times yesterday until I was already at work, but if I had read it before I left in the morning, I don't think I'd have had any trouble finding something to write about yesterday. Telander's column was focused on one thing: his Hall of Fame ballot. The ballot he left blank and refused to turn in this year ...
YOU HATE TO SEE THIS
Published 1/10/2008 at With Leather
Here's UNC's Tyler Hansbrough dunking it in the face of 7'7" monster Kenny George of UNC-Ashsomething. And this is just unfortunate. Once again we see a smaller, more athletic white player maneuvering past the slow, lumbering black player who's only on the team for his size. Man, I hate stereotypes. (Thanks, flubby)
Five All-Time Dunks on Crazy Tall Guys
Published 1/10/2008 by Jamie Mottram at Mr. Irrelevant
Blog Show No. 33: ‘Whitening the League’ | Home Five All-Time Dunks on Crazy Tall Guys By Jamie Mottram | January 10, 2008 By now you’ve probably seen Tyler Hansbrough’s dunk on UNC-Asheville’s 7′7″ Kenny George . If not, let’s go to the videotape … In that spirit, what follows are four more clips of dudes dunking on dudes listed at 7′4″ or above. Truly lovely, it’s KJ scaling Mark Eaton and throwing down a one-hander … This is probably the most similar to Hansbrough-George of the bunch. It’s a young Shaq backing down Gheorge and unleashing ...

Tyler Hansbrough dunks on 7-7 Kenny George [Video]
Published 1/10/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
So Kenny George is a beast. This guy is 7-7 and 360 pounds and he bigger feet than Shaq’s. My head could probably fit in his size 28 shoe. He leads the nation in blocks, mainly because he has an 8+ foot wingspan. He doesn’t need to jump to dunk at all, all he has to do is stand on his tippy toes.
Despite the fact that Tyler Hansbrough is nearly a foot shorter than this guy, Tyler got tired of getting picked on by this giant. He decided to go around him and dunk in his grill: ...

The Dunk that wasn't so great
Published 1/11/2008 by Jake at Motown Sports Revival
Tyler Hansbrough is a great player. However, the vast majority of college-level “big men” could’ve pulled off his “spectacular” dunk over UNC-Asheville’s Kenny George with the aid of a distance-creating travel or a "running start" as the announcer put it. For those of you who watched the game—or saw the highlight 68 times on Sportscenter—you know what I’m talking about. For those of you who haven’t, Hansbrough clearly traveled. Had he attempted the dunk—or even a shot—after just two steps—the number allowable by rule—George would’ve been all over it. You might be wondering why I would even write something about ...

It's time to shout from the rafters -- FINALLY IT'S ACC TIME!! The teams are looking great (most of the time), stars are starting to emerge and everyone is chasing UNC and Duke. Seems like old times. NCAA basketball. Where are we NOW?

Hello. Sam here. Say, this being a basketball site for a magazine that covers all levels of basketball, shouldn’t we be talking more about college ball? Ben Collins is our college columnist, but he has to go away for a little while until the heat dies down, so now what are we to do?
In steps commenter H to the izzo. Some people say they watch the NBA, but not college? Izzo, well… yes, this is about the NCAA season so far. Take it away!

Barry Manilow was in town last night. Can you feel it in the air? The feeling that our state is just a little bit worse this morning, like maybe we’ve lost a bit of dignity that’s never coming back? Well, with our dignity gone, what better time for another edition of the weekend links!
*Via Western College Hockey here’s a reason to despise new Michigan head football coach Rich Rodiguez: he shoots a hockey puck like a drunk woman trying to shoo a cat with a broom. All together now: SIEVE! SIEVE! SIEVE!

Busy Day
Published 1/15/2008 by Dom at The Beardown
It was pretty busy around work today, plus work on the shop was a little more time consuming than I thought. Anyways here's a couple videos I found on the net today. I've never seen ANYONE look as dejected as Kenny George does after getting dunked on. He drops his chin STRAIGHT to his chest. Some people say getting dunked on is part of the game, especially when you play in the post. I don't think Kenny George feels the same way. Dan Majerle would have dropped his epic "hey hun, don't forget the coffee." line following that one. Speaking of which, I read recently on TrueHoop that the former Suns standout trey-baller and current Phoenix restaurant owner ...
White Boy Can Dunk!
Published 1/27/2008 by Stan M. at The Ghosts of Wayne Fontes
Every now and then I poke a little fun at the big hick from Poplar Bluff, Mizzo. However, rest assured -- it's only out of love. Technically speaking, Tyler Hansbrough is one of the best College Hoopsters and Tar Heels, I've ever seen. And I'd be lying if I said he wasn't a personal favorite around this corner of the Internet. Yet, you gotta admit he's easy to nit pick or have fun at from time to time...right? OK, quiet down Durham, Raleigh, Winston Salem, Tallahassee, etc. Well, this is simply an homage to the famous white boy who can really throw it down. And thus, the visuals are here and handpicked. Of course, with a little ...
College Hoops Rundown - 02/18

In the first College Hoops Rundown college hoops expert Jon Sutton talks about Kelvin Sampson, Memphis nearly overlooking UAB, the BCS system being flawed and the Naismith Player of the Year watch.
The Big Issue
The biggest issue in the college basketball world recently has, of course, been Kelvin Sampson and Indiana University. Indiana was cited for five major violations of NCAA conduct, one of them being Sampson not only lying to the NCAA but also to his own boss, Rick Greenspan, IU Athletic Director. The “big issue” is whether or not Sampson will be fired and what, if any, sanctions will ...
