Another Controversial Pac-10 Call Decides USC-ASU Game
Published 3/13/2008 by Ty Keenan at FanHouse
Filed under: Pac-10 Basketball, March Madness, USC Basketball, Arizona State Basketball After last week's two controversial calls that helped give UCLA a weekend sweep and the conference title, you'd think that this week's Pac-10 Tournament would feature better officiating -- or, perhaps more accurately, a lack of anything but the most obvious whistles in a particular situation. Of course, if you think that, then you don't know the Pac-10. Arizona State's Jeff Pendergraph was whistled for an over-the-back call on a huge follow-dunk with 16.9 ...

Something like a Civil War
Published 3/14/2008 by The Duke of Kickball at Your Face is a Sports Blog
It was a pretty tense day here at Your Face is a Sports Blog - Arizona St. was playing USC in the Pac-10 Tournament. The Fightin' McLanes were looking to get off the NCAA tournament bubble with a win, while USC was looking to jump up a seed or more in the NCAA tournament with a strong run in the Pac-10 tourney. It was a close game all the way. I missed the first half (thanks for starting the game involving the local team at noon, Pac-10!), but snuck out to McDonald's and watched the second half there (how I wish this wasn't true). Here's what everyone is going to talk about after the game - this play and foul call ...

Pac-10 Officials Make A Terrible Call In ASU-USC Game
Published 3/14/2008 at FanIQ Blog
There's really not much to say here, except that this was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Apparently Pac-10 officials have never heard of "let them play." Arizona State's Jeff Pendergraph had a big follow-up-dunk with 16.9 seconds left that would have tied the game at 57-57. Instead, the zebras thought otherwise and called him for a foul on USC's Davon Jefferson. Jefferson hit his free throws at the other end, and the Trojans eventually won 59-55. I know people always say, a call like this never really makes or breaks a game because you could have put yourself in a ...

Quick Conference Tourney Evaluations

Pac-10: UCLA does what’s expected and Cal is unable to wreak some form of revenge for last weekend’s bullshit call and equally BS circus shot by Josh Shipp. Bruins bury the Bears under an avalanche of three balls, and move on to face USC, who was the beneficiary of another BS call by Pac-10 refs on an over the back ...

Pac-10 Tournament Seedings, Bracket’s, and Musings
There are the final regular season pac-10 standings. Who is getting in to the big dance off the bat? UCLA, Stanford, USC, Wazzu, and ASU are all no brainers. After that it gets dicey. Oregon would be the first 9-9 team to ever make the tournament and that certainly doesn’t bode well for Arizona. BUT [...]
