Midweek CONCACAF Champions League action on FSC
San Diego MLS Project —
The Houston Dynamo travelled to Mexico City on Tuesday night to take on the Pumas of U.N.A.M. in what turned out to be the best match thus far in the inaugural edition of the CONCACAF Champions League...
This group stage match had eight goals, and it was not lopsided at all --- the 4-4 draw was good news for both the MLS and Mexican League sides. The match was shown live on both Fox Soccer Channel and Telefutura in the U.S., and we'd like to share these great features with you in case you missed it...

100 Percent Soccer —
Just a couple of quick items of local interest to pass along:
*Chivas USA striker Ante Razov is out two weeks with a mild right calf strain. The club's all-time leading scorer hobbled out of Saturday's game against the Wizards in the first half.
*Chivas USA defender Eric Ebert, already on the season-ending injury list, underwent right knee surgery Tuesday afternoon in Santa Monica.
*Cal State Dominguez Hills' goalkeeper Alyssa Congdon has been named the Brine California Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Soccer Player of the Week. The former South Torrance High star has two shutouts in her last two games.

Maybe Montreal Doesn’t Need MLS
Dave's Football Blog —
Is it just me, or does it seem like the Montreal Impact would be better off not buying into Major League Soccer?

Only the Houston Dynamo are accounting for themselves half-decently here with two road draws, including a 4-4 thriller last night against Mexican clausura champs Pumas de la UNAM. (You can see the highlights of that match here. ...
VIDEO: Two Historic Draws, Houston in Mexico, DC United in Costa Rica
Major League Soccer (MLS) Rumors - For the time between the games —
For all the hoo-ha and ballyhoo about MLS clubs failing in this year's CONCACAF Champions League, when compared to their USL counterparts, one thing they have not failed in is getting a point on the road in two hostile places where MLS clubs had, until this year, NEVER gotten a point: Mexico City, Mexico and San Jose's Saprissa Stadium, Costa Rica. We believe these are quite big accomplishments and both of these draws easily could have been wins. Had they then we'd have heard a lot more ballyhoo about them. Here are the videos: DC United (reserves) 2-2 Draw with Deportivo Saprissa last ...
