The special Independence Day match between the Eastern and Western Conference leaders turned out to be the match that produced the MLS Player of the Week.   Adam Cristman scored both of the Revs’ goals, giving the team their second consecutive POW award, after Steve Ralston was voted the honor for Week 14. (from MVN Soccer) After the conclusion of Week 15, both the Galaxy and Chivas USA top the Western Conference table with identical 6-6-3 records, each with 21 points. --- Saturday night at the HDC, Chivas USA eeked out a 1-0 victory over the Earthquakes, thanks to an 88th minute goal by Ante Razov. --- Galaxy had failed to add to their points total, losing to Revolution (also at HDC) on July 4.

After going half the season without anyone earning Player of the Week honors or anyone scoring more than a goal in a game, the Revs have done both in back to back weeks.
