Toronto FC midfielder Maurice Edu earned the 2007 Gatorade Rookie of the Year award after starting all 25 matches he played, logging four goals and one assist while showing poise beyond his years in a defensive midfield role.

Well I am not too sure how to react, to the recent news of Mr Edu impending departure from the mighty reds. This kind of reminds me of a certain number 15 who once played in the hollowed city of T.O ( But maybe I am just being a dramatic). But the news of Maurice leaving MLS for a Greener pastures (In this case the Blue side of Glasgow) has left an uneasy feeling in the minds of many TFC supporters, its like breaking up with your significant other, even though you knew it had to end at some point. But with the recent results, i guess TFC will have to learn to play without the talented volante de marca ( that is defensive midfield in Spanish) ...

It's a sad day for Toronto FC. It's official, Maurice Edu is leaving us. He's on his way to greener pastures after signing a 5-year deal with the Glasgow Rangers of the Scottish Premier League. I don't really have anything witty or even slightly humourous to say about this. It's honestly a bit depressing. I wasn't ready for this. I mean, I knew Edu would leave us one day. I just didn't think it would be so soon. Oh, Maurice. It's only been a year and a half since you got here. We were just getting to know each other. But, I know, you have to go.
