Announcer Not a Big Fan of Richmond Kicker…Or the Game Itself
The Last Angry Fan —
After exhaustive research, I still don’t know if this was one of the announcers, or a producer who was accidentaly mic’d up. Either way, it’s fairly hilarious, not only for the f-bomb, but also for the brutal honesty of having to broadcast a game like this.
Whoever is responsible, their reaction to Richmond’s missed field goal at the end of regulation is priceless.
I guess that’s one way of getting out of broadcasting FCS games again.
Some Sunday Links

Doing a Sunday linkage thing for you today. Let's get to the links now. Mike Reynolds of Multichannel News writes that the Versus-DirecTV dispute remains at an impasse, but talks could get jump started soon. Mike reports that Setanta Sports US has signed for exclusive rights to several worldwide rugby tournaments. Wayne Friedman of Mediapost says sales for the 2010 Winter Olympics got off to a slow start, but NBC could be seeing a change of momentum now. Someone Just Got Fired.....
Outside the Boxscore —
When doing a live football telecast, there are a couple things that you have to remember and well, one of them is not to swear on live television. During this game between Villanova and Richmond, Richmond's kicker misses a field goal attempt which would have won the game. During the replay, a voice is overheard dropping a F-bomb asking for the game to be over. Yep, someone clearly screwed the pooch on this one and looking for new work. 1-AA Football Gets Extra Cursy
AwfulAnnouncing —
Yes I know that it's no longer called 1-AA Football, but the whole FCS thing just doesn't sound right. Anyway, there's a big manhunt by the CAA today to figure which member of the production crew decided to throw out a giant f-bomb following #1 Richmond's loss to Villanova (NSFW).... ...
This Week’s 3 Best Football Highlights (That Weren’t Plays)
InGameNow —
Buck Laughlin approves.
Most people watch football for the hard hits and scoring, which means that this week most people missed some of the best action between the downs. Both in the college and NFL ranks, tv commentators took a few liberties with their mics still hot, which always make for great bloopers. In a more premeditated play, Chad Ochocino was up to this antics again. All three incidents are worthy of video recognition:
