You may recall the Villanova-Georgetown game Monday night in which the referee completely ruined an otherwise classic (note: overstatement) Big East contest by calling a foul with 0.1 seconds left, about 200 yards from the basket.
We all felt cheated. It sucked. What a horrible way to end a game, right? Rich Chvotkin, who calls the Hoyas' games old-school radio style, probably didn't feel that way:

As enthusiastic sports fans, we've all got a little homer in us. That's natural. We believe our team is going to win the majority of their games and we generally view all our players with a glass half full mentality (unless they go hitless in the playoffs). Then there's that group of fans who are unabashed in their irrational, drank all the Kool-Aid and more, disgusting homerism. You know who they are. Their teams NEVER commit fouls, only lose because of bad luck, and aren't willing to admit when superstars have blatantly cheated the game.
