Slow clap wants Dallas
Hogs Haven —
Hat tip Extreme Skins all over this DMN article with accompanying YouTube video:
Redskins fans, who chanted "We want Dallas!!!" late in last week's win over the Cardinals, might consider Sept. 19, 2005 their proudest moment since their Super Bowl days. That's the date of Santana Moss spoiling the celebration of the Triplets Ring of Honor ceremony by burning the Cowboys for two late TDs in a 14-13 Washington win.
The bad news, as both the DMN article and Blogging the Boys notes, is that Roy Williams is injured. Others:
On the injury front, we know that Roy Williams, Kyle Kosier and ...
D.C. Turns the Tables on Dallas Week
Mr. Irrelevant —
I’m not sure where the direction-less debate about Dallas’ greatest rival went off the rails, but this much is true: Dallas is Washington’s greatest rival. And for a long time there, during the dark days between Joe Gibbs eras in general and the seven seasons dated ‘98-’04 specifically, it was a one-sided rivalry that saw the Redskins lose 13 out of 14. Dark days indeed.
But, out of the ashes, a phoenix has risen. Starting with the Skins’ 14-13 midnight double-strike win on Monday Night in Big D three years ago, Washington has reversed and reheated the once-great rivalry by winning four out of six. And these ...

It's the deadzone of NFL football. Conditioning camp opens tomorrow (Monday). Everyone will make too much of who's here and who's not, who said something and what it might mean, which prospective rookie visited and what that says about the draft, and who scratched their butt and its impact in the locker room. ...
Washington Redskins By the Numbers: #8
Hogs Haven —
I'm honestly torn. We said from the beginning that this was not going to be a list of the greatest Redskin to wear each number. There are three guys I have in mind today, and since #'s 7 and 9 are just not really debatable, I will put #8 up to a vote.
First, there is Mark Brunell. He might be more of a reminder of a few lean years in D.C. than an example of an all-time great Redskins QB. But I have been a fan of Mark Brunell since he came into the league. The Packers brought him in as a 5th rounder in 1993 and he rode the pine behind a certain #4. The Jaguars rescued him in 1995 and he made a name for himself as a run/pass QB. He was fun to watch on Sundays and ...

Kickin It With Nick Novak
Fat Pickled —
Nick Novak has kicked for 2 of my favorite teams of all-time, the Terps and Skins. While at Maryland he won many games with his trusty right toe and graduated as the all-time leading scorer in ACC history. He also won the Jim Tatum award, given annually to the ACC’s top student athlete. While he only played 13 games over 2 seasons in DC, he kicked 3 game winning field goals. His game winner against Dallas is one of the most memorable moments I have witnessed in my 30 years of rooting for the Skins. Nick was nice enough to grant me this interview in between tryouts for the Bengals and Lions. He has an awesome website you can visit here. Thanks again for the ...
