Raptors Notebook: Garbajosa shoots … and hops!
Posted Sports : Basketball — Jorge Gabajosa, the Toronto Raptors' forgotten Spaniard, ditched the crutches he has been hobbling around on for the past three months for a second consecutive day to shoot free throws at practice. “The days are going by, and I am feeling better, and it is the first and second day that I can stand a little bit,” Garbajosa said. “And it is not a big change, but for me it is really important after being on crutches for a few months. I have to be still on crutches, but we are going a small step ahead.” Garbajosa’s season officially ended in early December when he had surgery to repair the damaged left leg ...

Buzzer Beaters
Hoops Addict — This week’s Buzzer Beaters section has an epic poem from Isiah Thomas, speculation on Jay-Z and Lebron James friendship could effect the Cavs as well as a ton of YouTube goodies. * “To be in love” is an epic poem by Isiah Thomas posted on YouTube that every basketball fan needs to watch. * Huge props to Jeff at The Score for finding this video Chris Bosh made while sitting courtside during the dunk contest. * “Hi, I’m Kobe Bryant and I want to win a championship.” * Vince Carter: “Devin Harris is playing tonight?” Priceless! ...

The Most Compelling One-on-One Matchup in the East...
T.Jose Caldesports — I made a joke at the beginning of my previous post about the "marketability" (or lackthereof) of this series to American broadcasters.  Last year, the only reason the Raptors made it onto ESPN was the natural Vince storyline... this year, no story as compelling exists... or does it? In Chris Bosh and Dwight ...

One-on-One: Chris Bosh talks YouTube, nicknames, baseball
Ball Don't Lie — Towards the end of my conversation yesterday morning with Chris Bosh, I asked him if there was anything that he couldn't do on the court right now. "That I can't do?" he repeated just to make sure he had heard my question correctly. "Yeah," I said. "Of course not." Bosh responded. "I can do everything. That's the attitude I take every time I step onto the court. I feel that I can do everything: play defense, play offense, shoot the ball, take it to the hole, shoot free throws ... everything really. I'm one of those kind of players." As I watched him rack up 40 points and 18 ...

NBA Stuff: Trades, Drafts, Etc
Fourth And Fifty — Want me to show you why they call me "Dick"? Great. The Spurs just got another All-Star (Dick Jefferson) for nothing. Chances are Bowen and maybe even Kurt Thomas are going to end up back with the Spurs. Now Pipez and the Professional Filipinos Association of Greater Houston aren’t going to shut up about it. ...

theglobeandmail.com 2/28/2008 — One game, five things v1.39 1. Al Jefferson has some flaws, his main one being moving on defence. He's the opposite of the guys who give Bosh problems -- guys like Anderson Varejao with the Cavs or Mikki Moore (when he was with the Nets). Long, lean ...
