... blogs. Stop Mike Lupica is on his way out! Well to here anyway. People actually listen to Tim Duncan? Not surprising. Wouldn't you listen to a guy with all those ring-a-lings? Yeah, what is with this Sonics ad? Deshawn Stevenson really is a clown. The guy has ZERO game but keeps talkin' trash and doing that idiotic hand wave thing. It's pathetic D, it really is. 60 year old men dropping treys. Enough said.

I’m not Bill Simmons… I don’t believe in jinxes (which, as has been pointed out in our comments, may be why he picked the Lakers).
So when I read Rajon Rondo write about how the team is going right now… I can’t help but react by going down to City Hall Plaza and staking out my spot for the ...

Fred Newman will pwn your shooting skillz
Published 4/25/2008 by PostmanR at The Postmen // A Sports Blog // Chicago, IL.
As far as YouTube videos go, this thing is way too long. Nine minutes? Who has that kind of attention span? But the dude in this video is so amazing, it was hard not to throw it up. His name is Fred Newman and he hit 209 three pointers in a row. Holy. Balls. He’s also made 1,000 free throw in a row. AND he’s made 88 in a row blindfolded. Whoa. (Aside: according to my quick Google skills, I think this is all still accurate. If not, let me know Fred.)
If he stepped onto the court against high schoolers, they’d probably work him over. Still a pretty stellar ...
Four-Point Play: Ole Ole, Jose

Syndicate this site [image] Raps vs Magic _ Game 3 | Main Four-Point Play: Ole Ole, Jose Posted by Jeff Wong on April 25, 2008 • Toronto happened big-time last night as the home crowd proved to be a factor. According to KD: "the crowd at the Air Canada Centre on Thursday night was the most invigorating batch of supporters I've seen since Chicago and/or New York's 1990s heyday. Not only were they on top of the game, anticipating the action and working the visiting team, but they were starting chants and cheers without the aid of a giant Jumbotron, or the prodding of a patronizing PA man. It was exhilarating to watch, even if the ...

Old fart makes 209 three pointers in a row

Seriously. Billed as "the world's greatest free throw shooter," 60-year-old Fred Newman drained 209 three-balls in a row to enter the Guinness record book. This is an edited version of tape he sent to Guiness to become the world record holder. The actual tape has no cuts and is 45 minutes long and includes seven bathroom breaks*. World Record for consecutive 3-pointers: Done by 60 year old man
Published 4/25/2008 by houroc at SportFiends
Forget about Steve Kerr, Mark Price and Reggie Miller, this old guy puts you all to shame. He is the world record holder for the most consecutive 3 pointers. He dropped 209 of them in a row… Wow!
No word yet on if the Knicks are interested in signing him. If they do, look for the deal to be in the 5 year $60 million dollar range.

This guy is terrible

This guys is absolutely terrible at shooting a basketball. Couldn’t he have at least got somebody to rebound for him?

So obviously I was kidding. The guy set a record for 209 consecutive three pointers in 60 minutes. Maybe next time he can do it in a gym constructed in the last 50 years.
