Yao Wish…
Tirico Suave —
This is what it looks like when a 7′6” Chinese man needs to jump three inches to dunk and instead opts for two. Fortunately for the big Y , Diop’s pinkie slightly grazing the string hanging off his waistband in an apparently nefarious manner bailed him out. Still, terrible. Hat Tip: Antoine Roundtree .
Yao Ming Attempts A Dunk, Fails Miserably
FanIQ Blog —
(Editor's Note: Our great friends at Tirico Suave gave us this gem)
Yao Ming, all 7'6" of him, somehow couldn't manage to throw this one down, and the result was something a lot like what it would like if your average 6' somewhat ...
Worst of the Night: October 30, 2008
Basketbawful —
"Forever's gonna start tonight, baby." Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Emeka Okafor: See above. Get a room, ladies. The Associated Press: From last night's game recap: "Branded a one-man team in the past, the Cavaliers showed they can survive without their superstar." Uhm, yeah...against the Bobcats. The Charlotte Bobcats. In all fairness, it wasn't just the AP. Zydrunas Ilgauskas was also really excited the Cavs could handle the Bobcats while LeBron was getting a long breather in the fourth quarter. "It was kind of ...

Ball Don't Lie —
Yao Ming (and a not-so-crazy Ron Artest) powered Houston's strong finish last night as the Rockets beat the Mavericks, spoiling the debut of new Dallas coach Rick Carlisle. As KD mentioned, Yao's line was particularly sick: 30 points (on 11-15 FG and 8-8 FT), 13 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and an 8-track and a spare tire in his backseat. Hello! A pillow case of sugar-laden treats to the fine folks at Tirico Suave.
Ballin: Artest to the Rescue as Scorer, Peacemaker
The Big Lead —
Houston 112, Dallas 102: Listen to Reggie Miller and Marv disagree on the Artest-Howard-Yao kerfuffle (Marv’s right). Clearly, Howard (28 points) delivered a hard foul to Yao, who took umbrage. Then Artest (29 points) shoved Howard in a “back-off” move, and attempted to play peacemaker by getting Yao (30) points away from Jason Kidd, who gave a weak push to Artest. Refs called a dumb tech on Artest for nothing. Also, Yao missed an easy dunk.
Cleveland 96, Charlotte 79: Daniel Gibson pumped in 25 points off the bench, LeBron added 22 and Mo ...
Um, Yao?
Intentional Foul —
Last Rockets post of the day. Promise. It’s not often you get to see a 7′6″ basketball player get stuffed by the rim on a dunk attempt — until now, courtesy of Yao Ming (via Tirico Suave). It’s almost like seeing a futbol player miss a wide-open goal: It’s more shocking than it is funny. At first, anyway.
Brilliant choice of song, guys. Anyway, how in the hell did that happen? Can’t he dunk off of his tip-toes? Oh well, at least he has the excuse of getting fouled. Still. Yao, you can’t ...
‘I wish I was a little bit taller’ - Yao Ming Remix
The Hoop Doctors —
October 31, 2008 - Dr. J-Water
Just want to thank all of you for your patience yesterday, as our site was down while we changed servers. We are back, and I want to share with you a hilarious video put together yesterday by Tiricosuave about Yao Ming and his missed dunk last night against the Dallas Mavericks.
It’s basically the remix to Skee-Lo’s “I wish I was a little bit taller” starring Yao Ming. Keep in mind Yao Ming is a measley 7′6″ tall! He he he… ...
Yao Ming Misses Dunk - Video
Dejuiced! Sports News with No Boundaries —
Life can be unfair sometimes. Examples of can be seen in everyday life. Recently, an example was seen during an NBA game.
Yao Ming, the 7-foot-6 giant of a center on the Houston Rockets, went up for a dunk and missed it. This is a guy who can touch the rim without jumping. He can almost dunk without jumping. And he misses a dunk? During an actual NBA game?
Yao Ming probably doesn’t understand how unfair this video seems to the Average Joe. But we Average Joes and Averages Josephines know what it’s like to be 5-foot-8 and 210 pounds with one foot on the scale and dream of being able to dunk the ball. ...
Finals Preview?
RedsArmy.com - The Voice Of Celtics Fans —
Just look at TMac’s reaction to that. Priceless.
Just for the record, no… tonight’s game against Houston isn’t a Finals preview… but that’s how some outlets will play this up. Yes, Houston is going to be good. But for some reason, people always ...
Morning Link Dump - Yao, Cubs, Joe Johnson, Pussycat Dolls, Hamels, Biel, Chompers
TheScore.com Blog —
Obligatory Sports Babe So yesterday I scoffed at the idea of using that Pussycat Dolls girl as the Obligatory Sports Babe-- which I'd considered, because it turns out she's F1 Champ Lewis Hamilton's girlfriend. Well... then I saw that she appears in this new unwatchably-long foot-fetishy Nike commercial with LeBron James. So... whatever... I've changed my tune. OK? A Chicago Tradition Gets Slightly More Pathetic Apparently there is a building near Wrigley field that, since 1988, has displayed the number of years since the Cubs last ...
Yao’s Hilarious Struggles at the Rim Continue
SLAM Online —
Judging by his failed (and repeated) attempts to dunk the ball of late, you’d have a hard time believing Yao is actually close to 8 feet tall.
Von Wafer dunks the Yao way
A Stern Warning - NBA, NBL and FIBA News & Views —
Von Wafer might have learnt this dunking technique from Yao Ming:
Of course Yao has done this on more than one occasion, even this season. Here is but one example where Yao could not overcome his lack of height:
Meanwhile, what are the Celtics doing, losing to a team that is starting Von Wafer???
