Apparently, according to the sidebar to this ESPN.com story, two-thirds of a ton of compressed force crushed Buffalo Bills third-year tight end Kevin Everett's spinal cord and spine as he attempted a tackle in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos. The human body is not made to sustain a blow like that; regardless if that person is a well-conditioned professional athlete.
