    Okay, my thoughts:

    1) Very well done.

    2) Great voice synchronization...that's the most impressive part.

    3) It just doesn't do it for me. I'm not sure why.

    Me neither....

Anything Kobe does screams cheesy and fake - Anything Shaq does screams goofy and clown.

New Commercial featuring Kobe and Shaq
The Lakers Nation — Umm… wow. Chills anyone? If this doesn’t get you ready for the Playoffs, nothing will.

Kobe and Shaq, Together Again (Be Afraid!)
FanHouse — Filed under: Lakers, Suns, NBA Playoffs, NBA Videos, Los Angeles, Phoenix I must admit, this is a pretty sweet commercial. I'm sure both Kobe and Shaq were briefed on the concept, but it's more fun thinking they were oblivious that they'd be sharing a split screen until seeing it on TV for the first time. (I don't know why, just because.) As things currently stand, we're slated to see a Lakers/Suns first-round matchup (pending a tie-breaker with Houston), though in the extremely tight West, that's liable to change in about five minutes or so. Cross ...

Shaq & Kobe’s New NBA Playoff Commercial
Sportaphile — Just seeing this makes me more excited that the NBA playoffs are about to start. In the past few years I haven’t been much of a NBA fan, but the action this season is so good I’ve been watching more than ever. There will be eight teams who have more than 50 wins competing in the western conference. Daniel from LA Ball Talk posted this great Kobe & Shaq commercial that you just have to see… Unlike Daniel, I’m still holding out hope that The Golden State Warriors will make the playoffs. They have 3 home games in a row coming up (and one is against Denver), so they can very easily make it in. If the Warriors get into the ...

Links: NBA Monday
SLAM Online — by Lang Whitaker Alright, we’ve got a lot to get through today, because I want to devote the rest of this week to NBA postseason awards and make The Links a place where we can all figure out who deserves what awards. No NBA games tonight, because the rest of the sports world always takes off the night of the NCAA Championship game. I think Memphis is going to win — no real analysis or study behind that, I just think Bill Self isn’t a very good coach. That’s largely based on the time a few years ago at The Garden when Kansas was in a preseason tournament, and Ben was sitting courtside and with the game on the line, ...

We're fifth!
Bullets Forever — Toronto's loss to Detroit made it official.  For the third straight year, we're going to be playing Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs. This creates an interesting scenario.  Should we shut down Butler and anyone else mildly hurt for the next two games so they're totally healthy for the playoffs, or should we keep playing everyone and try to take over the fourth seed?   Discuss. Additional stuff: According to this, those ads with the split faces will continue in the playoffs with players from the playoff pairings splitting the screen, so you might have to get ready to see a lot LeBrendan ...

Mired in Deep Thought with Chrosh Kamildress
The Serious Tip — Apparently there are people out there who are uninquisitive. People who don't like thinking. People who are willing to accept the world as it is. People who don't ask why. People who don't drink Bud Dry. Those people probably shouldn't read any further. For the rest of you, I had an epiphany the other day that I want to share. Actually, it was more of a question or dilemma or a ponderance. Whatever. Has anyone yet researched who the best baseball fielders are in pressure situations? We often hear that Team A has a XYZ batting average in late inning pressure situations (LIPS), but we never hear what player or team plays the best defense in ...

Wicked Weekly: April 25, 2008
Comcast SportsNet New England » Wicked Good Sports — Thoughts while waiting for Doc to take out the starters at the end of Game 2 (so yeah, I was thinking for a while): Potenital Lawsuit of the Week: So either Time Magazine or the NBA needs to sue somebody. For Time’s sake, I hope it was their idea first. You don’t want any piece of David Stern in the court room. He’d own 51% of the magazine after seven minutes in court. I feel like I’m supposed to really like those half-face NBA Playoff commercials, but I never really did and they got old pretty quickly. But just for fun, here would have been my ideal (from a purely comedy stand point) half-face ...

NBA Finals Split-Face Ad Anticipation: Pins and Needles! Pins and Needles!
The Legend of Cecilio Guante — Frankly, it's come to be one of our most anticipated moments at the outset of each new NBA playoff series (/keys covered with the drippings of sarcasm). So, now, as the Celtics prepare for game six in Detroit and a chance to punch their tickets for the NBA Finals, we sit on pins and needles. Because we know it's coming. Soon. We can almost taste it... That's right. The debut of the next NBA "split-face" ad. You know, those phenomenal (and now totally played out) television commercials that somehow creep you out with their meticulously synced facial motions and voices. So, while the smart money is probably on that Bryant guy and ...

Video Of The Week: Where Amazing Happens, Ohio State Version
The Redshirt Señior — It's not on the same level as the old "The NBA--It's Fan-tastic" slogan or the split-screen commercials of a year ago, but the new NBA's new "Where Amazing Happens" campaign is catchy -- and primed for replication. The Ohio State is missing a few "Where ___ Happens" moments, like "Where BCS Meltdowns Happen," "Where The Big Ten's Torch Gets Doused" or "Where Maurice Clarett Learned To Run From Cops With Guns, Alcohol And Children's Tunes Sung By Inmates Playing." ...

Kobe and Shaq At It Again
laballtalk.com 4/6/2008 — The NBA has come out with another new commercial. I have to finally hand it to the league, they are finally providing great advertisement that is beneficial to promoting the association. And in this particular case, it's pretty cool. I just saw the commercial during the Suns-Spurs game and dug it. Oh, and for those unfamiliar with the largely unreported back story...
