Another Phillies outfielder giving up his body to help a pitcher who is in way over his head... Shades of Aaron Rowand: If you watch the replays close enough, you can see the ball bouncing around on the shoulders of fans and falling to the ground... Imagine if it had landed in Victorino's lap?!? As Gary Matthews pointed out on the broadcast, it would not have been a catch, but an impressive effort nevertheless.

Aaron Rowand Is A Horrible Influence
Published 7/3/2007 by Fornelli at Foul Balls
I know that we all remember last season when Aaron Rowand ran face first into a wall while making a catch, and broke his face in half. Well, apparently he's been giving Shane Victorino tips on how to play the outfield and kill yourself at the same time. Said Victorino afterwards, "Later, I realized it was not so smart of a play," Victorino said. "Fortunately, I ended up not being hurt. After I look at it on a replay, it was stupid. You've got to be smart. I have a career. I could've ended up hurting myself." Dammit, Shane! That's not the Rowand Way!
